CDC and FDA came out within the past hour and said they won't be needed just yet. Its good theyre doing it tho

"People who are fully vaccinated are protected from severe disease and death, including from the variants currently circulating in the country such as Delta," the FDA and CDC said.
"Americans who have been fully vaccinated do not need a booster shot at this time. FDA, CDC, and the National Institutes of Health are engaged in a science-based, rigorous process to consider whether or when a booster might be necessary," they added.

Yeah you can still "get it" but for now we're protected from severe effects

it remains high, however the efficacy is waning, hence the need for the booster

the context of the article is, it currently remains high but it will continue wane over time, meaning it will no longer be high after time

No, the context is that countries which focussed on vaccinating are doing way better with the delta variant than countries which didnt focus on vaccinating.

The vaccines are doing their job well and it shows in the numbers

They might not be perfect but they are better than nothing.

If everyone was vaccinated now there would be less deaths. Undeniable.

yeah maybe i’m just pessimistic but i feel like they are saying that so people don’t lose confidence in the vaccine and continue to get it (understandably so)

yeah i do agree they are better then nothing, and people definitely still need to take them to end this thing

i just don’t like the way some media outlets are portraying people who are hesitant

like yeah there are some dumb anti vaxers who think the government is chipping us, but there are also people who are hesitant exactly because of stories like this

it just seems like they don’t have it fully figured out yet (which is not surprising, considering this is a new disease), and it doesn’t make me any more confident in it

yeah i was actually really researching it this past week because i was ready to just go and get it and get it done with, but then i casually check cnn as i usually do most nights and see this, it’s like a rollercoaster of emotions with this for me (i do have diagnosed health anxiety tho so i know that’s why i’m in the minority with this stuff)

If you don’t wanna take it, don’t. As long as you keep your distance or get tested beforehand.

It's easy to be scared if you pick out the 0.1% of issues. Try to find a place that does it in a comfortable environment and go for it man
