dude seems like a weird mix of Travis Scott and Night Lovell. I'm pretty sure there's a music video where Night Lovell was literally dressed identically
really would like to know who the guy is related to or what connections he has. don't say this in an insulting manner, but he clearly knows someone. he has no presence or history at all, and has no following or anything anyway. no one gets into the industry like that w/o a connection - it's just not the way the business works.

    kendricks other cousin prob

it would have helped to actually know who this dude is. like keem had songs so we saw him develop but coming out the gate with a 2014esque days before rodeo travis scott sound and mo bamba like video, is not a good first impression. sounds like every dude in high school who listened to owl pharoah

He used to rap under a different name before pgLang

  • Mar 10, 2022

He’s already linked to Def Jam via pgLang

I don't think so. He hasn't really achieved anything besides being cool with way more successful and famous people.

He’s on a sold out tour
    Has platinum plaques
    Nominated for Grammys
    Sold 50k first week
    Featured ion DONDA.

I think he’s doing great for himself. We’re so used to artists blowing up overnight, Its refreshing to see Baby Keem slowly build his fan base.

Random question on the same topic, who are a couple of the last artists co-signed by/signed to another artist that have met your expectations with their debut singles or album?

    Don Tizzery

Didn’t really meet my expectations cause my expectations were thru the roof cause I know what he capable of, but Heaven or Hell was still really good for a debut

That's the type of heat I was talking about in the thread earlier that comes with association. Obviously having Dot as a face and voice for pgLang has immense benefit, but there's also that other side of it. Homie isn't gon just be able to build his thing and get the career started without all the unnecessary scrutiny cause of who's attached to it. Sacrifices lol

honestly LA rappers are HUGE hit or miss. Mostly MISS!

and all my fav LA rappers are either dead, falling off or not releasing s***...

your last sentence. yes, I agree. but it's also wild that it goes from being given a chance, to expecting a "prodigy" or a "mastermind" (words that were used earlier in the thread) simply because of another great artist's association and a promotional tactic. it almost doesn't even seem like a fair shot.

You got a valid point. As for myself even tho I think that Villains track is very generic I fw it, and I'm willing to see if he can grow from generic to a genuinely interesting artist.
But I cant expect other people to be like that when youre signed to a "label" that in their own words says that the artists they associate with break formats and embrace anarchy, and then release music that is the complete opposite of what they claim to do.
Bro is in a tough spot cus he's got some new eyes watching him and theres expectations that comes along with that. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out for him, cus as far as I know he's the first unestablished pgLang has put out there

Most coherent and fair response I've gotten in the thread. Agree on all points

Man I hope the stuff PG lang has been behind is a glimpse of where Kendrick sound is at right now. Kendrick, Baby Keem and Tanna Leone in their dynasty bag for the next album would be fire

Kenny Mason. Bro got some buzz now and he got some great feature placements/cosigns from guys like Denzel, Kennybeats, JID etc.
Not sure if he counts tho cus I got into him before he got those cosigns but he's the first one I could think of when seeing your question
