good idea actually, you have any off top of your head? ill add some too
I don't have any, but was planning to read "Think" and "the Problems of Philosophy" as my own introduction.
i donāt mean leave aristotle out entirely, but far better off starting with the pre-Socratics or even just straight Plato if this is your first foray into philosophy, which can be presumed from their wording
A recommended reading list in the op would be cool
reading lists are dumb just start with whoever ur interested in

A read list or recommended books would be very useful for setting the outline on philosophy. An Introduction to Philosophy is sometimes better than attacking it with no guidance.
I think getting into philosophy will make my mental illness worse
Just donāt go any farther than the stoics
Read whatever makes u calm
Who yall favorites?
I like rawls and kirkergaard
Been reading a lot of Putnam recently
Nietzche is annoying as hell
Did you ever say Yes to one joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: āYou please me, happiness, instant, moment!ā then you wanted everything to return! you wanted everything anew, everything eternal, everything chained, entwined together, everything in love, O that is how you loved the world, you everlasting men, loved it eternally and for all time: and you say even to woe:ā Go, but return!ā For all joy wants -eternity!

remember being assigned some of his readings in either a bioethics or epistemology course

Heās a good writer. Straightforward & clear. Isnāt scared to challenge dominant rhetoric, even if has been established for hundreds of years.
Also a very original thinker & is very funny.

It really upset me that he passed, his lectures enriched my life and many others
Still, one thing history tells us is that ideas seldom die even if people do
