now the coloring isn’t bad, the ones that are picked on the back and how it pops off

yeah i agree the wall art direction is on point. and endless river cover is really meh but i dont absolutely hate it. never listened though

not sure how I feel about the momentary lapse of reason art. the idea is really cool and yes its Storm again but the end result could have looked cooler i think. i dont like the border and text

what makes the wall great is how the font pops out and the inside vinyl artwork brings contrast to the white bricks

so momentary was david idea, he came to storm with a vision of a window onto a single bed and a frame that empty, i believe he says it referred to one of the album lyric vision of an empty bed? 2deep4me thank filly storm was polite enough to say it would make for a nice lovely photograph but not iconic album cover visual so he said to multiply the bed by hundreds

it is i think the most expensive shooting they did, what makes hipgnosis (the team he founded with who he collaborated on these artworks) is that they have surreal imagery but made them real, all is minimum all you see is live action) so already said that story but yeah they put all the beds (old hospital beds to make it worse lol) on the beach and had to move it back and back in bc of the tide, and couldn’t get the shot in one day (imagine the executives faces when they say they didn’t get the photo)

but with that being said, altho i like how it comes out and it works, it doesn’t fascinates me... maybe storm got burned out or hurt, he had the most stupid fall out bc he put animals cover in a book he did and then nothing for almost a decade then david comes with, let’s be honest a s***ty idea lol and he kinda phones it in yeah let’s just multiply that and call it a day

now im not one to glorify an artist, everyone is just human and makes bad stuff, only brian wilson is god above us all

so it’s not like all storm does is untouchable but i put it on david, i love the dude he is INCREDIBLE guitarist but he lacks any artistic vision wether it be visual or lyrically, he has his guitar, vocals and melodies for days i give him that! but did he thot he had one with this???

i agree tho the corner and especially the font aged like milk, that’s the eighties fashion for u tho, hate the pf logo they tried to hammer all over that era so bad

division bell works better, more iconic and leaves big impression, kinda interesting how it’s opposite to the wall... the wall, bricks, disconnection from audience, the division, two heads making one (roger n david?) and the dots in between their mouths as in reference to “keep talking”

i like the concept and the shot is beautiful the coloring is ridiculous and i love the font on that album but i just hate by default wide shot of nothing in general (like ye album cover) to me that’s just 101 art imo, sven tho there’s a pig there which saves it but if they had picked one of the other shots that can be seen inside the vinyl it would have stand out more to me ig idk like this for example

so apparently it’s this guy from the movie they did the album for

Storm described it as one of his least favourite covers done for the Floyd because they couldn't think of anything else to do. It was essentially created by accident when they were viewing slides of still frames from the movie and one slipped out of focus by mistake.
