May 10, 2022album was a solid 4.5. he got CARRIED by those beats. idk it just feels like he's trying to convince everyone that he's the coolest guy out by telling and not showing. he doesn't have his own identity. he might be able to turn it around in the future but idk. he really wasn't talking about s*** on here and it was boring....
he doesn't fit in the "cocky & confident rapper" niche well. it's not his lane. i could find a lot more to say but it's be less about the album and more about everything surrounding it

class warioAl has great errant observations about hip hop. Like I'd recommend following him on twitter or reading his weekly p4k roundups before his reviews, which aren't bad but definitely don't have the same laser focus
Tbh I don’t listen to rap as a whole so I’m not really familiar with him nor the music he focuses on.
I am a fan of engaging writing so I’ll check it out

Jack has basically no selling point in terms of life story or identity which you gotta have especially as a white rapper imo to make yourself stand out in this genre.
He doesn’t really know himself or stand for anything.
He’s supposed to be the next Drake but Drake knew himself and showed emotional depth and self-awareness very early on in his career.

The Darkest AngelI know this is a criticism for a lot of artists but Jack Harlow songs sound made by AI to copy what's popular. To be the goat you have to experiment like every legend before. Eminem, Kanye, Wayne, Drake all brought something new to the table. Harlow is doing exactly what every other black rapper is doing but he's white and that's the only reason he got hyped up this much

WESLEYS THEORYI hate pitchfork with a passion but they right about this one. Album got worse and worse after each listen. Jack needs to step it up next time rapping wise.
the funny part is you can get the feeling after every verse he feels like he murked it cause he raps more traditionally than his peers

In 2022 when music sales are all time low no one really is going to purchase/not purchase an album based on reviews alone
Especially when you can stream anything.
Maybe 20 years ago sure but that’s what made pitchfork such a landmark
Don't fool yourself people will do a lot to change an album's perception.
