They opened with “Do the Manta Ray” and some other b-sides from the album, played all of Doolittle in order (I never liked “Silver” but Joey plays it with a bunch of crazy tremolo when they do it live so it was actually awesome), then the rest of the b-sides, then they encored with “U-Mass” and “Where Is My Mind?” and maybe something else?

funny how u mass is such a stand out of all things from trompe, bowie said it was his fav too and he didn’t quite like the album

it’s the opposite for me lol u mass while im sure is fun live is just a pixies sticking to doing a pixies formula song in an era where they had enough of it and should move on which the rest of the album did great and ja my fav now, that’s why ppl don’t like it ig in general

I like the Breeders about as much as I like the Pixies. I guess they are a little more low-key but I love Kim’s voice and songwriting. Their most recent album is probably my least favorite (although the title track is one of my favorite songs of theirs) but I like all of the other ones. Definitely give Pod a spin, @Ithaka

I havent heard most of these albums in full in years, so I’m really enjoying it. I’m working through Bossanova now actually
I didn’t even realize the anniversary was coming up. Incredible

Yeah, definitely my least favorite song on Trompe le Monde. “Rock a My Soul” should have reappeared somewhere and “U-Mass” should have fallen by the wayside. I like just about every other song on Trompe. “Motorway to Roswell”, “The Sad Punk”, “Distance Equals Rate Times Time”, “Planet of Sound”. I might like it more than Bossanova. It’s got more going on.

aw shiett much appreciated brother thanks means a lot started with weezer thread (which is still my priority just don’t wanna oversaturate) i been wanting and planning for a minute to get on for the beach boys (equal to weezer) n pixies cos i was tired of the non existent content in music sxn
