EASILY my favorite game of the year (haven’t played Metroid dread yet)

For perspective, I was expecting this to be pretty trash judging by how square handled avengers. Like who the f*** was asking for a GotG game after that abomination? I was still cautiously optimistic though.

Man, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the game as much as I did. This is the definition of a sleeper hit. The story is constantly entertaining, with no boring moments throughout the entire game, getting to know all the characters and unlocking new dialogue was neat as f***, there are genuinely funny/sad moments, the gameplay is fun (although I do have some nitpicks about it), the environments are detailed and beautiful too. It’s just a full package. No day 1 patch or DLC. Just a straight game. Like you can tell the developers really enjoyed making this game, it wasn’t just a cash grab.

let me add that this is not like mcu guardians…. It’s closer the the annihilation comic line with hints of mcu influence peppered throughout.

If you like the gotg AT ALL… you will enjoy this game. If you like single player narrative driven games… you will enjoy this game

I think the poor marketing + avengers reception killed this games hype. I urge you to give it a shot. I think there’s some buy 1 get 1 free deal on amazon where you can get this game. I’m certain this will go on sale for Black Friday, so absolutely give this game a shot if you’re even slightly interested

TLDR; this is the definition of a sleeper hit. High quality game right here, with no day 1 patch, unfinished content, DLC roadmap, etc. just a straight game. Worth $60 imo but will be on sale over the next few weeks so BUY IT AND SUPPORT GOOD DEVELOPERS

it's comic book accurate, which I like because I'm sick of the MCU
Avengers isn't even that bad outside of the lack of content and heroes slowly releasing, they fixed most bugs and glitches, I must admit that I uninstalled during the paid consumables fiasco but I reinstalled again
if you like superheroes, play, f*** everybody that just moans about Avengers, I also put over 200 hours into Cyberpunk, another good game as long as you aren't on base last gen consoles

I was being hard on avengers cause it disappointed me, but yea the game itself is solid, just lacking content severely

I mean there’s going to be characters and references to the comics you may not understand, but I think it does a way better job than the mcu films do. Overall I’d say yes

I am surprised this is getting good reviews. Marvel infront of any video game title almost always means mediocre.

Though I liked Spider-Man, what you say holds true. S*** was just average.

Gotg isn’t some mind blowing game, just a really solid one. The gameplay could definitely be expanded upon but it’s decent. I think it’s main draw are the characters and story
