If you’re trading with friends, anything goes, but on GTS where random players can meet up to swap pre-determined characters, there are restrictions. Specifically, any Mythical Pokémon is considered a “special Pokémon” and will generate the error “this is a special Pokémon and can’t be offered for a trade” whenever you try.

Legendary and event Pokémon don’t have this restriction though, so feel free to trade them any time you want on GTS. The big question now is why players can even request these types of creatures when the app itself prevents them from being swapped. There’s no real answer though, so let’s move on to the second question of which characters count as Mythical Pokémon. Here’s the list in order of release…

Put up a 6iv dreepy (have like 7) for a Litten in Pokémon home just to test is out, and someone traded me one haha. It’s a sword / shield one but I don’t wanna transfer it to the game, because I heard they are gonna ban people who have them

People are having issues with those 3 shiny event mons specifically and the only way to legit get those shiny is through an event, they can’t trade them or play online with them for some reason, the non shinies work

This error isn't anything new. You couldn't trade special Pokemon over GTS since it's creation. I have no idea why people are going crazy over that. It's the least of this game problems.

Nah those 3 you can’t through link trade on SwSh at all, any other special mon you can still regularly link trade in game

What 3 shiny event pokemon are talking about because the only shiny event pokemon I know about that was given away in SWSH was the max raid Magikarp.

shiny solgaleo, lunala, and necrozma from some last gen events, you can get them onto SWSH but not trade them at all, i figure they'd be kinda wanted since it was the only way to get them shiny, so i was gonna trade/giveaway some but ya can't
