the sprites are super stretched out

Why would it look awful on the switch? Links Awakening remake used this same exact art style on the switch and looks amazing.
The character designs in links awakening are just better

As long as it has the distortion world as in game content or dlc I’m okay with it. I replayed platinum and I enjoyed it a lot. Also make it play like platinum cause og diamond and pearl were ass

Feb 26, 2021·3 repliesUltimaIt doesn't look like a mobile game. Look at the screenshots of the older game and the remake. It's a 1 to 1 remake of Diamond and Pearl. They took the 2.5D overworld sprites of DP and made them 3D. They even kept in the load lines DP had

No they couldn't. This isn't made by the team that made SWSH. This game is being made by Masuda's team that made Let's Go and ILCA. That's why the battles use Let's Go style. They didn't need to have the games overworld in full 3D, which would cost more money and then it would just be them reusing animations.
If I have to see Hua's happy animation for the 3rd time I'm going to scream.
Lol come on bro you know they look like mobile games. Remaking the games in a 1:1 format doesn’t change the fact they still look like mobile games. You can’t look at these pics and tell me they don’t like shovelware you’d see on the App Store.
All I’m tryna say is Sinnoh deserved more. Sure Masuda is a co-director but it’s still a different studio developing. We’re not going to get Mega’s or Gmaxes or the character redesigns we’ve gotten in past remakes and that’s a shame. If you cool with all that then more power to you, it’s all opinions at the end of the day

Water GiverNot sure, but it seems to be truly open world this time around so i wouldnt be surprised if there is a pokemon ride feature similar to Let's Go's, even if its a bit more specifc like ORAS remakes.
Its only the first trailer rn & it comes out in early next year atm, so they'll def have more info as the year goes on.

the issue i have is that its a brand new Pokemon game and it looks worse than Gen 8 and everyone came for Gen 8 due to it being 2019 and on new hardware
can we agree that they definitely cheaped out visually (again) and these remakes couldve been much more modern?
i definitely agreed before that Gen 8 was ugly although still better than Gen 7, we needed a modernization
