I honestly think that's why we don't see more images or have any information on it. I think they came across some bugs. I feel like Legends will be pushed back. Ohmori's team kind of suck. That's why ORAS was super laggy, Gen 7 ran like s***, and S/S ran like Doo doo. I had faith in the remakes mainly because of Masuda working on it with ILCA and we saw how pretty Let's go is.

I can see them showing legends much later cause maybe as of now its not a huge improvement yet, but i doubt tpc would let game freak delay their games, its never happened iirc

It's happened before lol in fact Diamond and Pearl was suppose to came out in 2005 in Japan but was pushed back to 2006. It's happened before. TPCi doesn't control when games release. They only deal with merchandising and global branding. Game Freak controls their games. So it's very possible they could push Legends back to late spring or summer 2022.
so im for sure copping BDSP
cautious on Pokemon LA though
Heavily cautious about Legends. I have zero faith in Ohmori. He has yet as a director to put out a polished game. I honestly don't know how he got 3 tries to put out a game. S/S selling probably saved his ass.

With stuttery models. Bro if a Pokemon move 360 in one spot when turning around I'm turning my console off.

i was a huge fan of Pokemon taking the step they did with Sw/Sh because it seemed like sure, Gen 8 sucks but the one after might not... and then we see Pokemon LA looks like actual butt water
but yeah i need some kind of depth that goes beyond what an Xbox OG or PS2 could run - minus the 1080p resolution but everything else is on par with gaming tech from literally 20 years ago

But i think that merchandise in a way or another is influenced by the games, especially if there are new Pokémon. Pokemon diamond and Pearl are more the exception than the rule, in 20 years that's the only instance it happened
i just dont see them delaying Pokemon Legends with the showing off the footage and saying Early 2021 only to double down and say January?
did Game Freak lowkey hire Monolith to build the world after moving into the Nintendo building? so then the year of work could be focused on actually polishing?
there's no way they finished the world, the story, the characters and all of the detail AND the user interfaces and everything
unless what they showed us in February was actually old s***ty footage from WELL before we thought

Not really lol Gold and Silver was delayed 2 years lol. G/S originally was suppose to came out in 97 but got delayed to 99 lol that was because they needed more time to learn the Game Boy Color. That delay caused them to change the entire game of G/S. Pokemon and all. Lugia didn't even exist in the G/S games we almost got. Kanto was originally going to be one giant city lmao smack dab in the middle of Johto. The original G/S were only OG Game Boy games and used a ton of RBY assets but upscaled.
Diamond and Pearl was delayed for similar reasons they still needed more time to learn the DS. DP was announced at the DS announcement and was said to release the following year, but got delayed.
Actually the break between Gen 7 and 8 was because S/S needed more time lol that's mainly why we got Lets Go. It's heavily implied(from beta leaks) that S/S started out as a 3DS game that was moved to the Switch. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon released in 2017 and S/S came out in 2019.
Merchandise has nothing to do with the games really unless it's a new generation. People can predict merchandising releases because of this. Merchandise usually tie in with the anime more. That's why the Anime is moving away from Ash just exploring one region. TPCi really don't control GF, GF don't control TPCi, and Nintendo don't control either. They all seem to do their own thing as Merchandiser, Publisher, and Game Dev. They don't step on each other toes.

Nope they confirmed that build was from late November 2020. Also they didn't hire anyone. The only team working on Legends is Game Freak and the usual 3D model studios they outsource too. I only feel that it could possibly be delayed to later because this is their first game doing something on this scale. It's pretty new to them and going take more than a year and some month to iron out. I think a early 2022 release date was them saying they can throw it out and fix stuff later.... Until the backlash and memes lol. I told you they see all this stuff on Twitter.
Unless y'all want 1 fps Pokemon moving in front of y'all, 360 turning pokemon, pop ins, and a barren boring world.

I stand corrected then, thanks for the correction. Were gold and silver announced before the delays or did it happen before an official announcement? Idk feels kinda bold to announce the game's release date for january on june if they werent sure about it, time frame seems too short but maybe that's just me

Gold and Silver was originally called Pokemon 2: Gold and Silver And was first mentioned after the release of Pokemon Blue in a magazine. Then it was officially announced in 1997 with a late 1997 release date. The first demo we got at space world 1997 happened in this year where we got a fire bear, a seal, and chikorita as the starters. It got delayed to 1998 and then to 1999. The game was originally made with the Super Game Boy in mind. There was no Lugia, no Totodile, or even Cyndaquil. Leafeon and a few other Gen 4 evos and pre-evo Pokemon originally first appeared in this first build. Ho-Oh was going to be the mascot of both games. In fact Lugia was only created because of the Pokemon 2000 movie. That's why it doesn't have a real connection to anything. The original games don't resemble what we got at all lol.
Because of the betas from Gen 1-4 is why I always was saying just watch and wait for BDSP changes. Masuda is a seasoned vet when it comes to these games. Ohmori isn't and he has yet to release a game that's not a stuttery mess. Again look at the quality of Lets go Eevee and Pikachu and compare it to S/S.
Stay very cautious of Legends. Even when new footage comes out S/S should have taught everyone a lesson to be cautious.
Graphics got a boost, ILCA been putting in work

I know you and I have talked about this in the past but I’m absolutely putting my expectations for Legends at the beneath the ground lol.
I have zero faith that they’re gonna deliver a game worth playing long term and it’s getting compared to BOTW out the gate. I wish Pokémon fans would have a spine and demand for the game to be pushed back for polish but clearly if SWSH are one of the best selling games in the series, that just will never be the case.
Haven't kept up with any of this but is the platinum content included in the diamond/pearl remakes?

Bingo!!
This has been my motto ever since ORAS tbh. Keep expectations rock bottom. When Masuda left the main series a lot of quality was lost. My theory on X and Y is that Masuda left mid-development and handed it over to Ohmori. All the cut content X and Y had that was left unfinished is kind of crazy.
I have ZERO faith in an Ohmori made Pokemon game. I don't even know how he was still directing games after ORAS backlash and Gen 7 flopped. S/S may have just killed the games because expectations are now sky high. Like you said Legends is being compared to BOTW and it has no business being compared to something like this.
@isellpixels will tell you me and him use to beef heavy. We both realized we on the same team. He use to always say how Lets Go E+P looked amazing. I didn't really feel him until S/S came out. Let's go, while I'm not a fan of the catching mechanics, it looks amazingggggggggg. Very vibrant and fun. There's no pop-ins and foowing Pokemon work perfectly. For some reason S/S look bland and boring. They couldn't even get following Pokemon right and Masuda works in the same damn building. All they had to do was ask.
I beg everyone to keep expectations low. Honestly game freak needs a shake up and it has to start with the game director.

only facts on this side
i even remember admitting that the catch mechanics and no random wild Pokemon actually ruined the game but the visuals and performance and overall effort put into the quality of life stuff - it's definitely worth trying
now i wish we got a Let's Go with classic catching + Sw/Sh style random encounters + overworld too - but unfortunately we'll never get that
instead they opted to give us Wild Area the game and then a visually watered down Let's Go - where the only actually parts off the game worth money are the same things the DS versions had, lmao IT'S SUCH A PAIN

The flower girl that gives you the graciadea flower to change Shaymin to it's sky form from Platinum is there. So are the Pokemon that was added to the wild in the original trailer. I'm hoping they keep the distortion world and battle frontier. It seems like they're incorporating platinum elements. I wish they added updated designs using the platinum character designs

I actually agree with a lot of this take.
Let’s Go visually and even gameplay wise was pretty enjoyable. The only thing I disliked was being pigeon holed into training by catching cause I just find that mechanic so sleeper.
Visually though the game looks amazing. Loved the Pikachu costumes as well and the riding Pokémon mechanic as well. Overall the game was a fun experience.
SWSH just seems so bland and boring in comparison

I even remember you saying you wish S/S was like Lets go. Damn I wish this actually happened. Been replaying Lets go recently and goddamn if BDSP looks even remotely like this game I'll be satisfied. Haha.
