How is Arceus today? Worth getting or better off spending my money on Scarlet/Violet

Depends on what you’re looking for.

Map looks great, big. Heard a lot of good things about the exploration from the previews, which is something Pokemon has been slacking on for years now especially gen 8 before dlc. Arceus brought it back a little and this seems to be going further in the right direction. A few of them said that the world feels a lot more alive than the 14 minute trailer showed us.

Competitive/battles in general should be fun with terastallizing. I skipped sword and shield but played showdown and rom hacks that featured Dynamax and I’ll admit that added some fun to battles but the type changing mechanics sound a lot more exciting than just more boosts that seem to only really work in doubles. Might be the best battle mechanic since weather or terrains.

Visuals will always be meh I’m afraid lol but the models seem to slowly be getting better. I like the textures on some of the mons we’ve seen so far, and a few looked pretty clean in Arceus.

There are some cool unrevealed things from the little bit of the leaks I’ve seen also, including the fact that the story is apparently really good. I’ve been down on the series for a while now, out of the 3D entries I’ve only connected with Sun/Moon but this seems promising even though they’re not reinventing the wheel, so if you’re looking for that, well.. lol. But It does feel like this will be what people were hoping what Pokemon on Switch would be like before Sword and Shield disappointed a lot of them. Might just be another Pokemon game but at least it seems to be a good if not great one.
