i like half of themn the ther half is ass, I REALLY like most of the redesigns which i usualy hate in the previous gen

Hope Legend Arceus new mons are in this game too since i didnt get that game n it can add even more to the pokedex for me

too bad they fumbled its designs when its middle is really good

What is different about designs?

The design language is really different this time around n feels like a "new era".

Gen 1 to 4 is classic, gen 5 to 8 is what we been in & now 9 is going n starting really in a diff direction again like how 5 did (my top 3 fav era btw are gen 3 > 1 > 5).

Gen was a legit mini reboot tho n they hired a lot of new ppl for it, but throughout gen 8 n a bit before they got a bunch of new ppl onboard so it makes sense gen 9 to whatever will have again another new feel n design language

A lot of the elements n concepts is really different this time around, like how 5 did

A lot of concepts this gen from the leaks are really new n unique n the artstyle again has taken a drastic shift for most of the mons (again, like how gen 5 did n continued its design language to 8).

Part of it is probably die to going full 3D now without any compromises or holding back. Like how the really detailed sprites they could do with gen 5 lead to them doing a lot more "complex" designs than beforehand, plus the huge flood of new blood employees.

It feels like a distinct 2nd jump imo. The 3rd gen of design.

All starters feel pretty equal to me

Lokix - grasshopper, always thought Cetitan the ice whale was cool, Bellibolt could’ve been on the cover imo lol, I like bellibolt, Tinkaton, ceruledge-armorogue, grafaiai is sick af, klawf is a goofy beast, as is orthworm, tasugiri is cute af, annihilape is crazy,farigaraf and clodsire are dope, then there’s some unnamed ones, this fire fish looks insannnne, then this Ice cat and this giant grass snail with no eyes that I can tell looks raw

There’s Def allot of ones I like

dolphin line is the most wtf ever tho someone had too much fun at the office one day

I want to pick fire starter for the tradition but there’s ghost and fire mons I fw more that I’m tryna have on my team

And I prefer the nutass cat design wise but I’ll be damned if I pick a grass starter for my first playthrough

I don’t understand what’s going on with the dolphin evo, Varoom/Revaroom, bramblin it’s literally just some thorns….evo, more thorns, same thing with the mice holding hands….evo more mice, scovillian is downright ugly might be the worst Pokémon ever

I think they're going full reboot now, but I also feel like they're using these games as a way to get all the Pokemon on the switch games. I have to get the accurate count. This is definitely a soft reboot.

Only thing I can say is that Gen 5 tried to recapture that gen 1 feel and I was watching a video that a***yzed Gen 5 designs and man I feel like they're underappreciated. They made them feel like monsters again with the sprites.

My biggest thoughts watching is Nintendo needs new hardware and I wanna pirate this so it runs at 60 lol
