Is the game harder or are you doing some nuzlocke type thing

the only "special" thing i'm doing is trying to have an all gen 9 team.

the game is incredibly easy on all fronts except i'm struggling against the poison type team star boss

i knew i was probably gonna struggle cuz from my experience team star is definitely the hardest of the 3 stories, there was a noticeable level jump for the "first" one (i know you can do them in whatever order but i'm still going in order of what's closest) and again there was a level jump. got my team to level 30-32, was still underleveled, also i have terrible coverage for poison, gen 9 ground and psychic type options are pretty meh and/or have terrible level up movesets. i caught a toedscool for my second attempt, evolved it and lost again. probably gonna move on to other things then come back.

See I'm constantly rotating out mons except my starter. My starter was overleveled for all the star battles. But my overall team was underleveled because I just wanted to use all the new mons

I feel the pacing for this game is off. There's trainers with pokemon in the mid teens right before that first Team star base, then she drops two level 26's on you. No XP for that fight either which is pretty stupid
