@Ultima is there like a spreadsheet of the transferable pokes for s/v but it shows which previous game to get them at. ?

I know the transfer list mainly has legends /regional variants /starters mainly.

I’m doing well in S/V almost done with the dex . But I haven’t finished the last 3 games

Its none to my knowledge. I put a chart in the front page that show what pokemon is available to get into S/V and what's not.

Gray/black mean it's not available
Blue means has to come from home
Purple/orange in game.

Even if it was in Arceus or SW/SH it may not be available to transfer to S/V as there is no model data for them. Game Freak is adamant on not including every Pokemon.

If you're trying to complete the dex of Lets go, SW/SH, and Arceus I recommend looking up the game dex on serebii.net.

I started doing this when the actual balls that you caught them in were shown when you heal in the Pokémon Center. I don’t remember what generation that was but yeah.

Catch everything in normal pokeballs. Catch Pokémon I plan to use competitively and shinies in matching apricot balls

I wish every ball had the same catch rate and it was all just aesthetic choice. Throwing 20 pokeballs at something that would’ve been captured in 3 ultra balls is so tedious

Yea, I do catch legendaries with ultra balls though

Anyone have tips for a new player? Finally copping a switch this month and I’m trying to decide between violet and scarlet. I haven’t played a Pokémon game since crystal. Not sure how much has changed since then.

Gotta say, besides the obvi techical issues, this is, IMO, the best mainline game (so, not counting PL Arceus) since Gen V, easily.
The new designs are mostly cool, but the sense of adventure that you just get from wandering around the open world and encountering the various Pokemon out there is great.

If they combine the best from this gen and PLA for gen X and if it's released on a stronger console, we might have a gem on our hands. Fingers crossed, but it's GF so the hopes aren't high lmao

Probably the best way to go about it. I’m just mostly conflicted on if I should get scarlet or violet. I’m not completely hip to all of the differences. Especially upcoming exclusives.

Just look at which pokemon look cooler to you that are exclusive for each game
