Also reading some of the internal conversation, there seem to have been some in-fighting on how Scarlet and Violet was created. Sugimori wasn't a fan at all of the school theme. Sugimori felt like it was just tacted on because you start at school and then you don't even have to go anymore. Ohmori seem to wanted to connect that to Legends ZA before it was eventually scrapped all together and both was separated.

This is why Ohmori should have been fired years ago because Sugimori is right. The school aspect of S&V felt like fluff instead of actually apart of the game and was unnecessary.
