Finally playing this, beginning feels pretty long but nice and wholesome so far

i feel so empty playing SwSh. I don't think it's a 0/10 like a lot of people think elsewhere on the web but so many parts of it are so disappointing. the fact that every route and dungeon is a literal straight line with 3 trainers on it and a few patches of grass is so stupid, especially given how beautiful the aesthetics of the areas are, and the presence of pokemon on the map. it makes you want to explore, but there's no actual exploration to be had. even most cities are completely empty. the coolest cities in the game design-wise literally just have a gym and pokemon center in them. the mechanics are so poorly thought out. the wild area is another really cool idea that is just poor in execution. everything feels so limited and hollow, even though the ideas themselves are so interesting in concept. and the lack of post-game is really disappointing too. i've had fun with the game and got a good amount of time (maybe 14-15 hours out of it) but I'm just so disappointed knowing how much better it could have been if the mechanics were fully realized.

if anyone is looking for the right weather, change the switch date n time to the first day of any month at exactly 6am and the whole wild area will be that weather. just did this for the fog weather and all the rare mons popping out
