I just learned Snipe Shot as he just evolved and have yet to use it so I’m excited to see what it’s like
Yeah and Inteleon is strong af. I literally used it through gym 4-6 without a sweat.
i cant really fw this game outside of pvp battles and collecting mons honestly the story felt weak even for a pokemon game to the point i ended up just button mashing through dialogue for most of the back end. obviously a lot of us dont play for the story anyway but having to deal w characters like hop and these unskippable cutscenes was genuinely taxing mentally. reaching endgame should feel rewarding, not relieving lol. also idk why such a peerlessly successful franchise feels the need to pander so much to the lowest common denominator. i one shotted my way through the whole story
that said its still pokemon

Nice, I've been easing through the first 3 gyms so far. Only had one pokemon die during a gym battle so far. Looks like 4-6 might be the same case for me.

I feel like Pokémon stories have been lacking since Gen 3. I enjoy Gen 7's story but overall the one thing the older games did better was having better stories. (Note: I did not play Gen 5.)
It would be nice to have a more interesting story with this game and I felt this way with Gen 6 as well but I feel like it doesn't detract from how much fun I have with the games.

Gen V and Sun and Moon had great stories. Gen 3 story is generic af. Idk what's up with your obsession with Gen 3

I didn't play Gen 5 so I can't comment on that. Sun/Moon had a good story like I said. But overall I think the older gens were better in the story department while the newer gens are better in quality of life enhancements.
Infernape goat and torterra was good
Infernape is great and I will say that Detective Pikachu movie made me like Torterra more than before but I still think that Pokémon is a little ugly.

Gen 3 barely had a story bruh. Legit Gen 1-3 barely had stories at all. Gen 3 didn't even really have an established rival. Gen 4 was when they started to make up a story. Gotta take the nostalgia glasses off. Gen 5 story is probably the best story in the series.

Black and white were about tackling the thought that maybe it's wrong to capture pokemon and use them to fight. Maybe they just want to be free.
The main antagonist always battled you with a team composed of pokemon from the surrounding routes who volunteered to battle with him.
Ofc there's some take over the world f***ery at the end but at it's core it's the only story that makes any tangible sense when you think about it.
This man think Gen IV starters are ugly when Gen 5, 7, and 8 exist
I never said Gen 5 and Gen 8 starters were good. They are ugly too.
I said yesterday the last good Gen for starters were 3, it’s the last time all 3 final evos looked good.
Gen 6 comes close but I’m not a fan of Delphox.

Sounds interesting, maybe I will cop someday!
Gen 1-3 I legit liked the looks all of 3 starter lines. That’s not even nostalgia the designs are just really good.
Gen 4 I only like Infernape. Gen 5 I only like Serperior. Gen 6 I like Greninja (Didn’t used to but Smash made me like his design) and Chestnaught. Gen 7 I only like Decidueye. Gen 8 I only like Scorbunny’s final evolution (Forgot the name, mine is still a Raboot)
