But if you were to tell people who were teenagers/young adults in the 60s that everything just became political in the 2010s for young people they'll let you know how inaccurate you are family.

It's not social media, it's the fact that you can only choose one party or the other, you're not allowed to make nuanced decisions to strengthen both the economy and social services, you have to pick one or the other.

In a real direct democracy you control what your government does, in fake representative democracies you choose which small group of people makes decisions for you.
