already laid this out but ill say it again, this wasn't because MAD fell through, it was because of a technology failure

soviets genuinely thought there were nukes headed directly at them.

    Okay? That doesn't change anything.

sanction russia weapons and things pertinent to situation but why should the civilian population suffer. What is accomplished from population suffering? I am asking genuinely

how do we sanction Russian weapons if you aren't gonna sanction the economy that finances it

also are you for sending help to Ukraine?

y'all should watch this the movie is based off the soviet submarine with nukes.

It's more of a case that it's one of the few situations on earth where nuclear war becomes an option on the table, nuclear war is infinitely more possible when nuclear superpowers are at war than basically any other time

I like to believe that neither side would launch any nukes in reality, but it's not worth the risk at all

no, this is totally true ur right.

regardless, acting like nobody should do anything because any conflict between nuclear powers will always 100% without fail end in war is a little silly.

In fact it proves me right because the orders were immediately to fire back after the alarm

Why would Russian oligarchs use nuclear weapons with the high possibility of retaliation?

You think they want to see their wealth go up in ashes?

Tsar Bomba is unable to be logistically used tho and was never a practical weapon. It was used as psychological warfare, a "threat".

Can you speak more on it?

Y’all realize every country has chains of command similar to America where a single person can’t just off a nuke

I can’t thing of any benefit anyone in the Russian government would gain from a nuclear strike, and they are smart enough to know that too

"smart enough to know that too"

If I thought they were smart we wouldn't be in this situation
