If self determination is immoral if it leads to violence, are you going to pin that immorality on the group seeking self determination or the one who is a perpetrator of violence so that they may maintain the status quo?
Because the pro-West Ukrainian president from 2014 is the one who rolled back agreements of autonomy and thus instilled hostile sentiments in the east which then escalated it into violence after they called for separatism from the government
