The Tribe had stories of a monster that resembled the Predator prior to the events of this, so that sort of contradicts the whole “first hunt” thing.
This series should definitely go the Assassins Creed route and do a Viking/Predator battle or some s*** like that.
Think it was just this particular predator's first hunt
Near the end of the film, the protagonist, Naru, summons the Predator by using a crippled white frontiersman as bait. After setting her trap, Naru stands in the dark and whistles, an act that in many Native American cultures is taboo. Whistling at night is said to summon evil spirits, mirroring how Naru is deliberately calling down evil on the injured frontiersman.

Man this was so f***ing great
No question it’s better than most of the Predator movies by a mile
Stripping it down and focusing on the hunt is exactly what they needed to do
The Flintlock being the one from Predator 2 was a nice callback

The critics are loving this lol
Some of these kills were really creative
The fight choreography was legit
The brother was f***ing the Pred up until he used his invisible cheat codes

Not the fair fighter like the predator in the OG. Even the bear f***ed the predator up real good in this one lmao
PREY WAS VERY ENJOYABLE DOWN TO EARTH PREDATOR MOVIE - I DIDNT SE NOTHIN WOKE ABOUT IT - AND I READ QUITE A FEW COMMENTS ABOUT THAT , YET IS NOT JUST PREDATOR MOVIE, IT IS GREAT INSIGHT ABOUT HOW TRIBE FUNCTION , THEIR HABITS , WAY OF THINKING.... AND MOVIE LOOKS VISUALY AMAZING,
IT TAKES A LITTLE TIME THAT ACTION STARTS , BUT I LIKE THAT , BECAUSE SUSPENSE WAS NEAR THE CORNER.
AND YES , PREADTOR LOOK IS VERY FIT , FOR A TIME PERIOD WHERE STORY TAKES PLACE.
ALL IN ALL BEST PREDATOR MOVIE SINCE ORIGINAL.
AND I DIDNT EXPECT MUCH , BUT I GOT MORE THAN I COULD ASK FOR.
Feel like there is a way better movie in here somewhere. Whole film should have been in Comanche. More focus on Naru's character development. More exploration of the relationship w/ her brother. Implement better tension.
Surface level storytelling, but the atmosphere, direction, and action choreography were all on point.
