Why are we acting like 5 major films in one year ain’t a big deal for any actor of any caliber?

I don’t care if you watch 100 movies a year or 3, 5 films in one year is not the standard.

A24 is mainstream im sorry. No not all their movies make a bunch of money but we can’t act like A24 is some indie studio these days. They are not that.

He's not a bad actor, he's fine. Pattinson is one of the best we have

Materialists played in almost 3k theaters, Eddington played in 2k

About as mainstream as it gets outside of Marvel and kids movies these days

I wasn’t counting them as indie, I’m looking at budgets

I guess I could’ve differentiated with big budget vs mid level budget

Indie vs studio is a different topic, but when you say "mainstream" I think of how many theaters showed it and how many people saw it

Like there's no way you wouldn't call Obsession a mainstream release and that movie didn't even cost a million dollars to make

I was really going by budget so maybe mainstream is the wrong word cause no I wouldn’t say Obsession is mainstream but it became mainstream with how big it got

A filmography isnt the same as a discography. A movie is listed under their resume even if they’re only in it for 15 minutes

I don't think it comes down to pure number of releases they were in. Pascal didn't exactly pick the best batch of films, and 3 of his releases last year came out within a 4-5 block.

Then he had side stuff going on like the Kirby s*** that just annoyed fans more. It was all a bit too much visibility, and the leading story was never his performance most times.

Being the lead of two television shows and making 3+ movies a year is a lot. And he's the lead of some of those movies as well.

Colman Domingo lowkey works just as much but he's usually a supporting character that you're glad to see.

Rob's gonna be overexposed after 2026 (and will dip until Batman) but the difference is he has no social media presence, balances supporting roles (no B2B leading roles), disappears into unique characters and is a bit more spaced out.

Its always pure business. He has a good performance, gets a meme related to his work, and has no celebrity BS going on. You won't see him anywhere else.

Pascal needs to know when to disappear (ex. Zendaya will and Rob isn't on screen in 2027) but he prob can't cus of franchise obligations

The Vanessa Kirby stuff is more of nonsensical backlash created to target him. They were holding hands during during a promo tour where they’re playing a married couple? Have they never seen stars market a film? Stars have had affairs on set that have gotten less backlash. Superman stars are both married and were making out after the director had said cut

He’s in one and a half episodes of Last of Us

Rob Patt is lead of Drama, Primetime, and the Netflix movie while playing antagonists in Odyssey and Dune

It’s really just moving goal posts not to admit that if Pedro was overexposed last year, Pattinson is this year

These are all stipulations that we’re making up on the spot to justify the hypocrisy lol

Pattinson has been in a relationship with another celebrity for his whole career (Stewart, FKA Twigs, Suki), he’s not above or removed from the celebrity life

Like sure they're not panned or anything but F4 wasn't really a jolt of energy to MCU's bad streak, Eddington was never embraced and Materialists did pretty solid overall. Again tho this was all in he same 4-5 week period. Then he comes back with another Disney film that was again not a jolt to a major franchise.

Its kinda hard to compare that to 2 IMAX 70mm prestige releases, 2 majorA24 releases and co-starring alongside major stars and directors. We get a break from Rob after this year.

Reception to a movie does not factor into exposure to the public

All Pedro has lined up next year is a Todd Haynes movie

All we have to admit is that overexposure was always a dumb criticism and they were just targeting Pedro most likely cause of his political views

Yes it does. If you're in stuff the public like they won't mind if you're around a bit longer. Its exactly why one is being hyped as generational and the other isn't.

Zendaya, Rob, Hathaway, etc.. are all completely overexposed this year but gaining very different reception as they're in some of the year's standout hits.

Again though...it really doesn't help to lead 3 films in 5 weeks unless they're all timers
