yeah idk why people gassing up this game, especially for that price

some platformers are cool but this one just ain't it, they ruined the prince of persia franchise just like they did with assassins creed

    Lmao y’all cannot be real

This is how the prince of Persia series was dumbass, they didn’t ruin it, this is the original style. It was originally a 2d side-scroller…

It’s a 2d game and it still got an 87 on meta so there’s no way this is gonna be disappointing lol

I still play the OG one sometimes, so I don't have an issue with the game being a platformer.

My issue is with the art style and how it starts to feel more cartoonish and colored.

Combat style feels like Ori, which again, it's not really a bad thing, but it feels forced on these series, here the game feels about mashing buttons more than actual skill, like the previous games or even the original.

I never trust critics, this is why I'm trying to get it on my Steam Deck right now

Nah the game is pretty challenging, honestly at times it feels like if FromSoftware made a 2D game

Yeah the game definitely feels very childish/mobile like.
Performs quite well on the Steam Deck, but I so f***ing hate that parry combat system, I feel like developers implement that mechanic nowadays to give the games a feeling of being challenging.
Anyways this ain't worth it 60$

Game is $50 on next-gen consoles

There’s no way this feels mobile like lol, you’re just capping. All the impressions I’ve seen are positive, and not from critics just from regular streamers and ppl on social media. Are you even a fan of metroidvanias?

I already said I do enjoy the first PoP occasionally.

    You haven't played it yet?

Idk if all these games are 'metroidvanias' but here are a few 2D platformers I enjoyed

    • Ori games
    • Angry Meat Boy
    • Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Symphony of the Night, Dawn of Sorrow
    • Jazz Jackrabbit
    • Machinarium

I'm just saying my main issue is the art style, and this comes from someone that loved the Prince of Persia reboot of 2008. But I'm gonna keep playing tho.

The game ain’t out yet unless you paid for early access

I saw someone play some of the demo and I loved the gameplay and story so far

The art style doesn’t really matter to me, I don’t really have an opinion about it

Sure, this is how you form an opinion after all, you go and read opinions of others before you even play the game.
'Regular streamers and people on social media' can also be paid you know?
You just have to check the comments of 'IGN review' and 'before you buy' video, there are plenty of people giving their opinion and it's not a good one.
Y'all just hate it when a mf goes against your opinions.

I do think you need to actually play it tho to form a real opinion. Based on what I’ve played so far, it’s fire tho. Seems like it’s not short either from what I’ve heard

He said he watched a stream and enjoyed the gameplay and story, the streamers opinion didn't have to involve what he saw and formed an opinion on, although that was the medium he viewed it on.

And they're not flaming you for going against popular opinion, they're doing so for your inability to adapt to a new art style and saying that "ruined" the game.
And game dynamics constantly evolve and change, hence a parry system being added as a extra difficulty multiplier makes sense in modern vidya

Yeah im excited to try it, but will probably wait for a sale tbh.
I've heard its a really long game, but don't think its worth the price tag at the moment.

Tbh, if you got Ubisoft+, you can just run through it on there for cheaper than buying the game and then cancel the sub lol

Why should I 'adapt' to a new art style if I don't like it? I'm just going to say I don't like and yeah I believe that ruined their opportunity.

I believe the parry system being introduced it's just lazy difficulty upscaling, because just mashing buttons would have made the game shorter.

Y'all enjoy it tho, I just find it funny they're selling a mobile game at full price of a PS5 game

real, i‘m not paying full price for a platformer man no matter how good it seems

Maybe it’s time to finally retire AC and the other garbage they’ve been releasing like watchdogs.

Go back to basics. Prince of Persia, splinter cell, rayman. They even own the classic Driver series.

    would love this

You don't have to adapt to the new game. but saying they "ruined the series" is False.
the old games still exist so if you don't like the new one you can still play those. They "ruined" a new game for you, not the series' overall legacy.

What would you reccomend as a smarter difficulity upscaling that wouldnt let button mashing spam people through the game?

I also agree with your point not to listen to game reviewers, need I remind us of the one who couldnt get out of cupheads tutorial.

There are plenty 2D/side-scrolling games that are fire just like there are plenty 3D games that are fire. Just play those. There’s obviously still niggas rockin with these type of games cuz the praise has been nearly universal from critics and fans alike lol
