the album itself is solid and i have no hate for it (except for jughead ) but the point of boxsets is for the stans and music nerds atleast to me

so it makes no sense they're pulling a boxset for an era that has largely been forgotten and left behind by prince fans, it's just frustrating they chose to do this project before any of his early day material or revolution days

Out of all the Prince albums it’s the one that’s the least in need of a remaster, everything from 1991 and onwards sounds great

D&P such a weird era because it’s a mixed bag, some great stuff mixed with some mid and trash

the b-sides are the best part of the era imo

rosie g trying to rap is the absolute bottom of the barrel for the era tho

Honestly if you get rid of the mid tracks on it, D&P is actually kinda great

Starting my Prince journey. My dad’s favorite artist is Prince so I’ve heard a good majority of his music growing up but I’m going to listen properly now.

I’m on Controversy right now. Out of his first 3, Self titled is my favorite so far. For some reason I really didn’t love Dirty Mind like I thought I would, I’ll have to sit with that one for longer. For You is so good, I can’t believe he was this young and making albums this grand

Damn Dirty Mind is my fav when it comes to his 4 albums tbh. Can’t wait till you hit 1999 and Purple Rain though
