New book in 2021:
“I've been working on book 2 for over 3 years and I'm almost finished! ALMOST! lol My publisher got a little OVER excited and accidentally posted my book going on sale early but since the cat is out o' the bag, here is the scoop straight from my keyboard to you! Book 2 will be out in March 2021 and I'm very excited about getting this finished and on the market.
Book 2 (1985-86) covers: Parade, SOTT, Crystal Ball, Dream Factory, Madhouse 8, The Family, The Flesh, Jill Jones album, parts of The Black Album, Camille, Sheila's 2nd and 3rd album, the last part of the Purple Rain tour, the Parade tour, UTCM movie, as well as the break-up of The Revolution and The Family and more! There is so much incredible music in this one. HE DID ALL OF THIS IN TWO YEARS!
I've been incredibly lucky to have interviewed so many fantastic people about their time in the studio, and I will admit that I may like this book even more than book 1! I promise to keep working on this to get it out there as quickly as possible. Thank you Rev for the incredible cover! You've outdone yourself IMHO!”
This is the book to purchase. Tud da goat
Of course you need this book if you haven’t yet purchased
Prince fam is the luckiest for book material to make sense of the archives & what we know. We are fortunate to have this man document the facts concerning the material. I can only imagine the interviews. 😎 @lamont @canon @Giannis @Doubledawg227 @viscera

Slave trade documentary interviewing Prince personnel about this era in his life regarding the contractual maze. Extremely in depth, this one is 2 hours 56 minutes. 😳 you can watch it for free there 😎 this is a good documentary to just put on in the background & listen. Lots of info.

It is revealing that director could show the clips but you had to pay money for the rights to the music even if it was 2 seconds,
This kind of shows the counterproductive nature of music documentaries .
Not one person could be played without putting money on the table.
Which sort of explains why only a few music documentaries are made today. No one wants to deal with this s***.
I think the law of using mere seconds you shouldn’t have to pay.
Especially if it’s used with a voice over. This documentary had to create its own original score instead. Paisley park estate wouldn’t allow even one 😒
I’m going through Prince’s entire discography. So far I finished all his 80s and 90s albums, just have to finish his 2000s and 2010s work
