    Originals are really hitting

    Here's another one

People really have no idea how great bootlegs there are This set is a holy grail & it's only volume 1. Just look at the setlist

    LINK:

    bit.ly/35gMezZ

Here's the basics of what this is:

This is City Lights Volume 1 remastered. what's city lights? Well it was a bootleg that focused on tour shows from 80-88. But the remastered version is a 'little' different. This one you getmore than one Prince show, you get the Rick James Tour,DIrty Mind US tour, Dirty Mind International Tour, & a time show. D: Now some of you are probably "Why a Time Show? That isn't Prince' Well, Prince recorded & wrote & performed the majority of the music on record. In essence, you are seeing a band live through Prince's funk band identity on stage. It is surreal when you think about it.

City Lights is revered as one of the greatest bootleg's of all time in Prince lore. But when Sabotage re-released it, they basically tore the roof off the conception of what . great is. Everything you want is in this set of this tour. For some strange reason Sabotage wanted to include D*** Clark appearance from 1979. Which is kind of pointless because, isn't it a lip sync on american bandstand? (You were not allowed to perform live during taping) But I guess Sabotage Records wanted to give the listener the concept of the introduction that the public had to prince. Another odd thing, Sabotage includes the Rolling Stones botched performance. Were they just taunting Prince to put this on there? I think tht as well to do with the timeline.

Of course the most important thing is, these are full show's. You get to hear how Prince was on Rick James tour and why Rick probably regretted it to his dying day that he let this man upstage him.

Anyways, this is volume 1 of City Lights, I hope you like it. Play it in your car, stereo, headphones or wherever. I've copied all the photo scans of this release from discogs as well. So you can read the liner notes & check out the photos.

Fair warning, this is close to 700 mb compressed.

    cowritten by Prince

Released in 2018 on her Lost Tapes project. co-written in the late seventies with Prince, another demo from his LA days. Simple little pop number and Valerie sings it with a good delivery. I bet a demo exists where he is on instruments & vocals

    Her 70's album's are

    RIP to Valerie & Prince

    Office Max.......that's all you need

Another song we never heard but probably exists. Im guessing this was after Badu because of the a***og living in a digital world reference. The lyrics seem to be the Jehovah era if you look at them. I'm going to guess no earlier than 1997.

  • Someone is lying, either Miles estate is lying or Prince s lying I tend to think Prince would know the difference between long improvisations or a solo feature on 'Can I play with you'

' GW: Earlier this year you released Crystal Ball, a mammoth five-CD set. It contains some incredible outtakes and a number of unreleased tracks, but still no live music. You're hailed as being one of our best live performers. You've been doing incredible shows for years. Why have you avoided releasing live material?
    .
0{+> : I have everything on tape, man, including all the informal jams. I record everything I do, just like Jimi Hendrix did. And eventually a lot of it will be released. To me, Crystal Ball was a test case. I was testing the water to see if people would buy music over the internet, and whether they would be receptive to a five-CD set.
Since the album was a success, it leads me to believe that the whole interactive thing offers great possibilities. I mean, why not make a five-CD live album, with people on the internet choosing their favorite tracks? Why not poll the fans on our web site and let them compile it? All this will happen. Soon.
    .
For example, I just performed and recorded a 45-minute jam with Larry Graham called "The War," which I edited down to 26 minutes. It's a fantastic track. In the past, my old record company would never allow me to release something like that. Now that I have my own label, I can think about releasing that kind of stuff.
    .
GW: What were some of your most memorable jam sessions?
0{+> : God, there have been so many. I've actually recorded some indescribable music with Miles Davis -- long improvisations that I will release at some point. But again, I want to wait until the spirit moves me, you know. Bring those recordings to the public when it feels right. Like release it on his birthday or his death day, when Miles was released from the circle of life and death.'

He basically spelled it out in this interview that he and Miles did record together.

Randee Nicholas photographer for Prince for many years:

"I was directing a music video called ‘Violet the Organ Grinder,’ so that’s a still from the shoot. That was shot at Paisley Park. In this book, I was trying to document the many sides of Prince. I think people think of him as a musician that does a variety of kinds of music, but when he would change musically, he would also change his persona physically. He was always Prince. 24/7. He never wore jeans and T-shirt.”

“He’s actually asleep on the train from Tokyo to Kyoto. I snuck in and shot the picture. He woke up a little while later. There’s a really peaceful, quiet, shy, demure side to him. The antithesis of what you see on stage when he was singing falsetto, doing the splits and playing guitar like Jimi Hendrix all at the same time. Because he doesn’t sleep much, this was a special moment for me to capture. There’s only one of him.”

"I go into his room and I said, ‘Where are you?’ And he goes, ‘I’m shaving.’ I said, ‘Oh my God, excellent. Hold still.’ He would just look at me like, ‘She’s everywhere.’ One time he just said, ‘Is there any way to get rid of you?’ I said, ‘Not really, so just hold still.’” This is really him shaving, with his hat on. This is just him in this bathroom, shaving. It’s just nice to be let in a little bit.”

"I’m driving down the street in L.A. in the morning and I come to a stoplight and I look over and there’s this smoke wafting off the top of this building. I parked and walked into the building and it was wet and there was still smoke. My phone rang and it was Prince. I said, ‘Well, I just found this building that I think was on fire and there’s smoke wafting off of it. I think it would be amazing to put a baby grand piano in here and shoot you.’ He said, ‘OK. Meet you there in an hour.’ I also called a model, because it’s always nice to have some girls there to distract him; the guy loved women. He was so spontaneous. He lived life to the fullest in the moment.”

“This was a rehearsal at Paisley Park. Other artists, when they’re rehearsing, are wearing sweats. But this guy… he has this incredible heavy lace bolero top. He did his eyeliner better than any makeup artist I’ve used. The guy did the most incredible makeup on himself and he wore that eyeliner every day.”

"This is at the O2 in London. He did a show for like three or four hours at the O2 and then he did a show at this place called the Indigo. Now we’re at like five or six hours of music. This is him leaving the O2 to finally go back to the hotel. These clouds rolled in, so I did a five-minute time exposure. None of these colors are enhanced. He was getting into his car to leave and I just asked him to stop on his way. He had to hold still for five minutes.”

“This is in the Griffin Park Observatory in Los Angeles. We went up there to see a view of the whole city; Prince had never been.”

Really hoping that with the remaster of 1999 that Sign O The Times is next in line. The digital version's mixing/mastering is honestly pretty awful, the individual songs are dramatically varied in terms of volume and clarity, to the point where whenever I listen to the album I have to physically adjust the volume from track to track to keep things sounding somewhat consistent.

The Here we have Prince in his house ( he demolished it later. But this video is cool because we see the inside of the house/ exterior & plus we hear a smoking version of zannalee - a simple guitar blues number about a threesome

Not sure why the estate hasn’t put this up yet.

But if you are wondering what kind of s*** is in the vault, prince recorded all stack of power trio ish in the 90’s with Sonny T & Michael B. And that’s all facts. Bruh.... . 😭😭😭😭

Here’s a power trio film ‘Undertaker’ where they were going to play this Zannalee song but Prince aborts quickly and goes into something else. But you can see that his band was still ready to go to film at 2 am in the morning.

    part 1:

    Part 2:

when he hits the opening to Bambi, that’s for player’s only. That drummer is going off.
