We don't need "alternatives" inasmuch as we need a restructuring of what qualifies a person for imprisonment, and the nature of imprisonment.

Prisons under both capitalism and socialism have had some horror stories, but in the case of the former, it legitimately thrives on non-violent "crime" that is considered criminal because it prioritizes the "sanctity" of private property over human life. Socialist prison corruption often comes from prioritizing ideological adherence over human life, which is terrible, but the sheer inhumanity of arresting a homeless person for sleeping on a park bench or being drunk due to being depressed because they're homeless and/or alcoholics is f***ing disgusting.

Basically, get rid of capitalism, get rid of ideological dogmatism of any kind, and treat human beings like they're humans but understand some of them just need to be kept away from the public, and may even deserve death in extreme cases (i.e. Jeffrey Epstein, Adolf Hitler, etc)

It's just juvenile to think there won't be some kind of detainment facility for legitimately, provenly dangerous people in society, or that dangerous, hostile people won't exist under any system. They always will, but the frequency of their existence declines drastically when material needs for the majority are met and guaranteed as best as possible. And there needs to be a place to put these folks and to recognize they can't all be rehabilitated or saved. Some people are just pathologically f***ed up or have fallen too far to be saved.

Jail is very expensive and waste of time. Just make every punishment to a death penalty. Speeding ticket? death. Prostitution? death. Racketeering? death.

No more waste of money to keep every criminals alive with housing and food, and everyone else will obey the law or else they will DIE. Criminal activity will decrease enormously

It should never be criminalized and, at best, economic rehabilitation and/or medical care for prostitutes should be the response to getting people out of prostitution.

Women should just be able to f*** whoever they want on their own terms, not because they rely on it for money, but they're not bad people or "sluts" for becoming prostitutes either.

There shouldn’t be jails as we have them now. We just need asylums, much greater mental health and therapy outreach/accessibility, and small centers where people who are unfit for society can receive the death penalty.

Those people you described? Rapists, murderers, child abusers/molesters should just be put down. Can they be rehabilitated? Possibly. But why bother? Why waste valuable resources on individuals like that when we have 300 million other people to worry about?

All that other s***, all those other crimes like dealing, theft, whatever. They can get rehab and therapy but they don’t get forever to change. They need to straighten out eventually.

Then all the others who are unwell mentally but need something more than simple therapy go to asylums until they’re ready to be integrated back into society
