them kids got tiktok hits it's the same
They have a couple songs that are popular with their small fanbase on tik tok. That’s not the same as being a tik tok hit.

the new punk is just modern hardcore, metal, and grind blending together more and rebounding in size often with electronic influence. A lot of cybergrind, slam, and beatdown is in.
there are no local scenes revolving around local versions of osama or nettspend
edit is that album cover supposed to be like the white stripes

there are no local scenes period lmfao and if they exist they're definitely not rock-oriented
Yah no. That s*** is baby soft to this lmao
I remember when that came out. S*** was raw asf. Niggas were hitting that heroin on camera
once again new frontier of hip-hop/rap subgenre will be compared to punk due to its "faux-rebellious" nature similar to s***pistols and rejection from generations past
at least be thankful it's with better artists than 2016/2017 lil yachty

and anyone trying to objectify the quality of music's past to now is fighting a pointless battle because that's never going to matter when people will be close-minded no matter how good the product actually is

Im at local shows upwards of 3 times a week and stay in touch with my favorite bands, tf you talking about
we had a literal local only hardcore festival this past sunday at a hardcore only hall type venue
13 bands played
This is OK?
I can’t wait for these dudes to get out of hiphop or the guilt of letting down their white parents finally sets in

i've seen a lot of cool punk and metal bands local to my city and the punk kids have a crazy loyalty to them, they pack out every single show
i can kind of get where the comparisons are but i still think it's a shallow comparison. punk was about the fringe having a voice. the fans didn't aspire to be like the bands, they felt like they were equal with the bands. When I see rappers bragging and showing off their whips in videos, but calling themselves punk, I feel like they're missing the point. That's not s***ting on rappers who want to flex, but it's not what punk's about.

thats what Im talking about, Im aware ohio even has a crazy scene with how the payasa people showed up for a local band headlining
my state has 3 well known region based scenes and even more people know less about, states like cali or texas have more. my rural ass high school has 2 active bands rn
remember odd future said they were the new wu tang clan
ended up being better

come on man lol
I’m at local punk shows like every week, it’s thriving here. tampa, orlando, miami, jax are all great, and then the better bands play up into atlanta and philly etc. insane energy, the diy venues get completely packed. it’s a proper scene
