You guys really won’t be able to find albums from todays newer gen that can stack up to what OP’s been posting
Obviously they’ll have songs or two or three but these are ENTIRE ALBUMS that have totally fleshed out sounds and it’s something that’s severely lacking
I’m glad you understand what I’m implicating 🙏
I’m not trying to push the age-old Old music > New music narrative
Just something about the production quality hit different back then, it was, as you say, so much more fleshed out and fully-realised
also i think streaming allowing you to work right until the release date kind of f***ed everything up
so tired of these beats project X should've been the end of it
I’m glad you understand what I’m implicating 🙏

Exactly
I LOVE these new artists and I really want to see them shine but they are just lacking in the production department and people are too busy thinking we’re playing a team sport of old vs new
If you want people to think there wasn’t a peak then PROVE it

Beats we’re mixed better and more layered too

Im not tired of them but I cant listen to a long project of them.
maybe YOU PEAKED in 2015, nigga?
LMAOOOOOO
Frfr this all it be boiling down to
One of the best songs this year for me
i already outgrew that typa production tbh, they ran that s*** to the ground
Logic
savage mode 2 and WLR out now
WLR a definite exception to my argument - and that’s because it was doing something new production-wise. . . Carti was tapping into something relatively unexplored
And it’s a beautiful, soul-bearing classic
SMII for sure has its moments too I guess, not really for me though, Metro still great, legendary producer tbh
already did
and years from now niggas are gonna be able to tell the exact month and year these beats were made

The LIBRA, No Pressure, THIB, and KD2 all had great production too but again they’re more in the minority (not tryna say their groundbreaking or anything)
