Saw this over the weekend and I gotta say, I don't quite understand the level of hype it's receiving. I just wasn't really moved or interested by what was going on. Yes, it looked good. Yes, there was good humor - my audience was laughing every other minute though, I was like alright damn lol. The visuals and Rocky's dialogue pushed this past just being a decent movie to me basically. Sandra Hüller was great too and I hope she continues to pop up in big movies like this.
Idk, maybe I gotta see it in IMAX to truly understand the vision.

A little gassed but enjoyable
Movie was cool but the tone and writing were godawful. Marvelization of normal blockbusters has never been more apparent
As an aside, why are Miller and Lord essentially presented as the directors of the Spider-Verse movies? That’s always been such a weird facet of those movies, because the actual directors almost seem to exist entirely in the shadows.

That’s literally Miller and Lord’s style though. You can see it all over the Jump Street movies, just more overt because they’re straight up comedies.
Their Solo film would probably be a lot similar.

That's fine and I know that, seen those movies and loved em cuz they're comedies but that tone used HERE?? just fell super flat for me
Their "style" just being "jokes sometimes" isn't even a "style" honestly, that should be more the writers right??
Dam this s*** not even showing in imax anymore. I was thinking of seeing it again but i don’t wanna if it’s just on normal screens

That’s how I watched it , worth it!
i havent seen this but does this have the right to be compared to interstellar? Im seing interstellar erasure. Like are they even alike or is it just because theyre space movies.

Different tones, different genres. All they have in common is the vague similarity of "saving humanity" and being space movies. Loved PHM, but Interstellar is leagues better imo
Let the Oscar controversy begin
