Great album
listened again yesterday. street corner preacher is a slapper
@Elric you put me onto this
liner notes from the cd i got 16 years ago they were right
@elric check out this Arthur Lee written song band that had the Love drummer Michael Stuart before he joined on Da Capo
Was happy to find a thread on this vibe, i shroomed for the first time last night and jammed to some Joan Baez actually, something about homegirls voice is mad haunting but beautiful at the same time
@Elric a passing fancy is pretty decent a few nice cuts on there for sure like this one, great guitar

wasnt me, i just saw it for the first time
lame ass op doesn't consider this psych but i sure do
you seem to be in the minority on that idk, besides maybe Phenomenal Cat/Wicked Annabella i just don't hear many psych qualities at all. if anything seems to be going in the other direction compared to trippiness, intentionally remaining completely rooted in reality. looking back to the past when comparing to their work in the previous few years, kinda like The Band tbh. especially songs like Picture Book, Last of the Steam Powered Trains I feel like are the Brit pop/rock style of the time period with the least amount of psychedelic sound compared to most of their peers
for me:
songs like See My Friends, Lazy Old Sun, Fancy = full fledged psych
Something Else, Face to Face = not fully bonafide psych but significant psych influences and a few songs. Sgt Pepper level psych
Village Green onward = sober with only peripheral psych influences
would love to hear more of your argument on how its psychedelic to you tho...any specific psych moments for you, or songs that you agree lack psychedelia? convince me might be rehashing a bit of this convo we've had before lol
yall peep this album if yall havent already
