    not a valid argument

Us Cities are literally designed around cars before humans, of course it would be terrible

Obviously cars work better in the given urban design because it’s specialized for cars but that design is inefficient, dangerous, expensive, wasteful, and ugly. However, it benefits gas and auto corporations since people will need to buy cars to participate in society effectively

If cities were designed around the human scale then you wouldn’t even need to spend 6 hours being in 5 places because everything you would need is walking distance. The only time you’d need to use public transport Is when you need to cross the city, and the only time you’d need to use your car is when you leave your town or city, which you really wouldn’t need to do unless it was for a trip

People really just acting like Uber doesn’t exist in highly populated cities is kinda funny. I legit spend as much on Uber as I would on gas and other car related funds

Lmao nah in NYC them ubers be overcharging like s*** especially if they picking you up from a black neighborhood no cap

Swear y'all be acting like we can't have both. I love train rides, but if I have the option to drive somewhere...I'm f***in driving lmao trains ain't as cheap as y'all love to think that they are.

A 3hr train ride from where I live down to DC can be from $150-180. A 3hr drive from where I live down to DC will only cost me half a tank of gas. It only costs me 40 bucks to fill my car.

The train ride down to DC is lovely. But you're a f***in moron paying $150-180 just to get down to DC if you have the option of driving available. S*** ain't even a faster, cheaper, or more convenient alternative

I feel like this guy doesn’t leave his home like that

Sometimes you just want to be spontaneous and go somewhere out of the blue, when you’re already out.

Can’t do that with a train. Need to plan it and see what time trains come and s***

Obviously this is the reality of the situation, but we are at the maximum level of automobile transportation efficiency right now. Is this really more efficient than designs surrounding public transportation as a primary mode of transport ?

Independence to what, switch lanes? drunk drive? fall asleep at the wheel? pay for gas?

Y’all say “independence” while you use your car for the same reasons any human would transport themselves anywhere: work and back then maybe to a social event

I always take the subway when I'm in the city. But it's been way too much weird/wild s*** going on in the subway these days that I'm really considering just walking around everywhere again.

The subways are f***in disgusting and stink like s***, as we have saw just a few weeks ago they been getting flooded like crazy, and this last one ain't even their fault, but it's way too many homeless people down there these days. Yeah I know that's on the city, but until the city decides to finally do something about that problem, I'm not gonna be all that enthusiastic about having to ride in the same train car as a homeless person who decide to turn the s*** into a personal home/bathroom stall.

Because public transportation isn’t funded because corporations pour money into cities so that cars get used!

Y’all just had a hurricane tf u expect to happen

    Ideally, yes

In reality most places, not at all. Make it a priority and it would improve.
