Cars aren’t better choices but we use them because they’re profitable for companies and this get pushed instead of city-owned trains and buses
Y’all say “independence” while you use your car for the same reasons any human would transport themselves anywhere: work and back then maybe to a social event
Car sessions
Driving with your girl, driving with your boys and listening to music, driving down to the beach, driving to some nature park for a walk and etc
Driving to do your groceries. When you forget something you needed to buy you can leave at anytime, instead of waiting for the next bus or train lol
Cars>>>>>
Just get your license and get a car. You’ll see
Obviously cars don’t need to be eliminated fam but do you really think every damn person in this country needs a car??? China uses cars at a rate of 1/12 of the US per capita and their economy, their way of life, is just as stable as ours while they produce less CO2 per capita even factoring in their production of goods for the West
Why can’t we do that?
I enjoy my independence, nothing like waking up on a Saturday and saying hey let’s go to Chicago or Detroit and being able to just hop in the whip and go. I get what you’re saying but I’m not trying to be cooped up around a bunch of people during a pandemic, plus driving is relaxing/fun and one of the best places to consume music or audio content in general
I'm happy for you but literally just this morning or yesterday morning trains in Queens were shut down for hours lmao s*** like this do be happening bruh
When the 2 AND 5 trains are shutdown for maintenance for more than half the day...for the third time that f***in week

If this world actually cared enough to fund public transportation they’d care enough to make sure this s*** pandemic didn’t last two years and cripple every sense of our livelihood
its deadass weirdos and disgusting vile people in public transportation in my city no thank you
Late night drives to or along the shore with a couple blunts, tunes, and your thoughts so you can be away from family, work, and other bullshit do go hard

Idk man I got 3 whips and I love em. Being able to scoop up the homies or grab my fiancé and go wherever I want on my free time is a blessing, I used to do 3 hour commutes for work so I’ve grown to really enjoy driving. The bus system in my city is full of bums and addicts I’m straight on being surrounded by that s***
Hate on public transportation is rooted in classism. Rich white people are afraid to associate with the poor people they see on trains and buses so they defund the programs that keep them running. The trademark sign of a well designed city is a public transportation network that is used by everyone, regardless of economic standing.

lmao ngl I drove from NY to Manasquan Beach in NJ with a skimboard, a boogie board, towels, and a bag full of other s***.
I'm actually tryna imagine how that trip would've went without the car

And what about the working class who also hate having to use public transportation because of the people they have to be around?

Lol I hate public transpiration because people are inconsiderate, loud, and quite frankly, can be very disgusting especially seeing as they don't have to clean up the bus

Imma tell you how it happens. It doesn't

Exact same thing, they just don’t have the control over resources that the upper class do so they aren’t as responsible for the horrible conditions we’re stuck with.

If public transportation was better funded then the facilities could be cleaned more often. It can be louder and more crowded on public transportation, I’ll give you that, but again if we had a more robust infrastructure then the passengers could be more spread out and not concentrated on just a handful of lines that only go to a few hubs.

Nah man. We just classist for not wanting to deal with all the potential bullshit that comes with using public transportation.

People being more spread out does not fix the fact that people are inconsiderate loud and careless with their trash and personal belongings
The day a motherfucker calls me classist for complaining about getting robbed on the train...

That's another thing, a lotta weird s*** been happening on the trains lately in NY I remember at some point I seen a homeless man got stabbed up on there through social media this year
