that whole album was such a W. they couldve easily made something that sounded very 2009 with none of the spirit of the original, or went the complete other way and made something that sounds so close to the first album that you’re left wondering why they bothered at all.

but they just got that perfect blend between both

kept the spirit of the original intact while building on it like any good sequel should

i hope they can repeat the trick for the third album.

There's a third on the way?

an overrated group wouldn’t have their members collectively come up with debatably 4-5 of the best hip hop records of all time

    Who else holds up?

  • Nov 30, 2020

It's not, but it's a really really incredible album

Wouldn't be surprised if it's in most people's top 10

as far as pre-reasonable doubt years go, 1995 was goated between this, liquid swords, and the infamous among others

all 3 are much better than reasonable doubt

wu tang forever is awesome, why dont u like it? it def doesnt belong with the W, Iron Flag and the like. its much better than the other group albums

there are great songs on a lot of the other albums. beneath the surface isnt a classic by any means but its a good album. same goes for rae's shaolin vs wu-tang and some others. i think meth, considering he was the star of the group, disappointed the most. tical didnt even really live up to the hype. gza, rae, and ghost got all the good beats lol

nah i dont think so. jay-z peaked on that s*** lyrically, its mafiaso rap at its finest. i think you can rank the 4 in any order, ull get different orders from a lot of people.

Jay Z peaked a lyricist which is great for him but that doesn’t mean much when jigger is a worse lyricist then them lmao.

Honestly Rae might be the smoothest rapper ever just in terms of how his voice + how he talks

Can't think of anyone who sounds cooler

I think you just dislike Jay Z. The lyrics are right there with the best of them. And the beats are on point as usual with Jay.
