Honestly Rae might be the smoothest rapper ever just in terms of how his voice + how he talks

Can't think of anyone who sounds cooler

    Dr Dre 100% Srs.

Sounds flabby af now but no one had that level of presence and arrogance.

No way in hell Illmatic is better than Infamous

Black Star is genuinely so much better than OB4CL and Illmatic lnao

It’s probably better than Dr Octagon as well but Dr Octagon is so much more entertaining to listen to.

Them niggas just ain’t rapping on the level of Nas on Illmatic lol. Most of the verses are out of this world. I do enjoy the infamous more sometimes like I enjoy a lot of albums from the 90s more. I get why Illmatic is held on such a high pedestal though

In terms of mic performance, yes. Nas was the better lyricist As a whole project It doesn't hold imo.
Havoc has changed the sound of hip hop radically with his production on the Infamous: distorted synths, piano loops... etc. They were all started or refined by Havoc. Not to mention Prodigy's performance as well. The album creates a consistent, dark atmosphere that you cannot find anywhere else

I agree, but once you play Infamous you are trapped in this dark atmosphere that best portrays the reality of Havoc and Prodigy. Plus they were 18 when they recorded that s***. It's unreal

an overrated group wouldn’t have their members collectively come up with debatably 4-5 of the best hip hop records of all time

    Who else holds up?

Ya but that’s like out of 25 records collectively, this is my main point

And almost half the members were trash and never got any shine at all

All I’m saying is there’s people who worship this group

And they maybe got 5 classics out of their vast catalog

& half the group never got any shine
