The rapper just needs a vision for da album and it will be just fine
it's mainly confirmation bias cuz collab albums between rappers and producers often involve a top tier producer who already has chemistry with the artist in question.

If your a great curator like Westside Gunn, you can get beats from various producers and still pull it all together into a cohesive project.
