Not sure if this thread has been made already but I couldn't find it so here it is.
The title explains everything I guess.
You don't have to seen every film but keep in mind that if you watched like three films by a director who made 50 movies it's not necessarily that plausible to do this. However, it all depends on you.
You can also include mini-series if you want to. Like for example, Sion Sono's Tokyo Vampire Hotel or Lars von Trier's The Kingdom.
Have fun!

Alphaville so low
2 or 3 things so high up
Here's mine for Kubrick so we can get him out of the way:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Dr. Strangelove
Eyes Wide Shut
Barry Lyndon
A Clockwork Orange
The Killing
The Shining
Full Metal Jacket
Killers Kiss
Lolita
Spartacus (disclaimer I haven't seen this in 10 years)
And one of my personal favorites, Michael Mann, with the caveat that I've never seen The Keep or his first four movies. So maybe I'm not the greatest expert, but his filmography is incredible either way:
Heat
Miami Vice
Ali
Collateral
The Insider
Thief
The Last of the Mohicans
Blackhat
Public Enemies
So you basically think he's gotten worse every single movie?
Gotta correct this.
Quentin Tarantino
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill 1&2
Jackie Brown
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Reservoir Dogs
The Hateful Eight
Django Unchained
Death Proof
Here's my Scorsese.
I haven't seen: Who's That Knocking at my Door, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, New York, New York, The Age of Innocence, Kundun or Bringing Out the Dead.
Goodfellas
Taxi Driver
Mean Streets
Raging Bull
After Hours
The Irishman
The Wolf of Wall Street
The Color of Money
The Aviator
The Last Temptation of Christ
The King of Comedy
Silence
The Departed
Casino
Gangs of New York
Boxcar Bertha
Cape Fear
Shutter Island
Hugo

dam boxcar bertha over cape fear? i'd rank cape fear pretty low but boxcar bertha over that

Haha I actually hesitated at that. It's pretty negligible but I put Boxcar ahead just because of the rawness and how fun and weird that movie is.
I don't think any of these are bad films at all aside from Hugo which is awful.
