hadjiyea its not a zero sum game. I think stuff like this is good for hip-hop because it's nice to see people paying attention to lyrics without it turning into a personal info reveal-off like big mainstream beefs had become in the past few years. and as long as it doesn't spiral into something serious I'd call it a win. it also has joey more focused on music which is probably good for new york and for rap fans in general because it feels like he's been only halfway in the pool for almost a decade at this point
I agree. The effectiveness off the “gotcha” reveals isn’t lost on me, It’s proven itself to work, especially when the memes hit socials. I am glad it didn’t end after Ray hit him with the Diddy track. People do tend to take beefs way too seriously, the stan wars were easily the worst part of last years beef and it’s still prevalent in this one too. You’re right though, unless something crazy pops off this is good for everyone. You got people checking Ray for the first time, Joey bringing crazy moral to NY and put a battery in his back.
