He's saving his finisher for the Grammys. Give him a chance.
He’s gonna hit the people’s elbow
That was Miguel’s biggest mistake by not pushing that as the lead single. At that point of his career he was still known enough to have another hit in him. It was perfect for that summer smh
I don’t know who idea it was to release two versions of Coffee at the same time
He released the remixes with Kacey Musgraves and then Tame Impala. It wasn't meant to be a hit.
Cole and Miquel should've dropped a collab album on us, they sound great together.
You a diva babe, a living legend, down to earth like Issa Rae, even though you're from Heaven, we be laughin' all day! We drinkin', we f***in', and got good tree on the way!

It should’ve been really, the OG version just had hit written all over it. I even said that before the remixes came out.

Miguel also said that he wanted it to be the lead single but RCA had other plans.

Label fumbled.
That’s subjective tho, you cant decide how long or hard someone worked on something. The vast majority feel like the 4 years it took to make blonde and endless were warranted and worth the wait
I didn't enjoy blonde at all but that is subjective. But if you don't think Frank has a gimmick you gotta open your eyes my man.
In my personal experience I've found that lots of people like Frank because it makes them feel like they're part of something exclusive. The overpriced and limited merch/livestream releases/rare drops despite the fact that it's obvious he's sitting on many songs.
He's also gay so he's got the LGBTQ community wrapped around his finger but obviously that's just part of who he is.
Miguel also said that he wanted it to be the lead single but RCA had other plans.
Miguel should be on Motown with BJ. Yes or no?

Please don’t get me started on RCA
So they plan was to release Coffee with Miguel only version and the other with Wale, way to go RCA

As a Nigerian woman, hearing Wale talk about s***turns me off.

I get what you’re saying about his fan base but I don’t think that necessarily equates to having a gimmick. His gimmick is almost that he doesn’t have one. He’s not in the media like that, he just drops when he drops and people wait on it and hype it up

Yup. Could have been a fruitful partnership.

Miguel should be on Motown with BJ. Yes or no?
Sure if he gets more artistic freedom, but I also know that it's important to him to make hits.

Yeah his lane is that poetic stuff not raunchy

Need Olubowale to feed my mind and soul but leave my body alone.
Wait.... did the leg drop actually hurt his career? I thought everyone just thought it was funny and stupid and moved on?
not one of my favourite artists or anything but I love this song
This is the song I most associate with post-clubbing, where the sun is coming up but I'm coming down.
It's an airless cocoon of lust and lush guitars. Really beautiful. Great album.

Big Sean actually explained what may have "hurt" his career: on Hot Ones Big Sean says there are 2 types of artists - ones that can leave for years, drop and album and be welcomed back (he cites Kendrick and Ye); or ones that can leave for years, drop an album and lose a little bit/or a lot of momentum. You will only know which you are after you leave and return. You'll be missed, sure, but what will the reception be?
It took him 2 years post-leg drop incident to drop an album. A calculated machine could have told you, controversy = attention = sales. But he didn't care. He didn't have music he was happy to put out.
I don't know which one Miguel is in the beginning a***ogy but he releases music on his own time and to his own vision and I can't hate against that. The music has always been good.
