Let discuss why it's so bad.
I think it's the upvote downvote culture that leads to a hivemind mindset
You gotta realize the average reddit user is some 28 year old white dude form Wisconsin, with a switch, two kids and a wife
Thats when most of their takes and jokes make sense
if im searching something on google, then im going to write reddit after to get the best results
but otherwise it sucks

I'm tired of them niggas policing me because I talk like a nigga and use emojis.
I'm ready to break into their crib and smash their marvel collections
It’s definitely the downvote system. Say something they don’t agree with you’re downvoted even tho that’s not what it’s supposed to be used for.
eh some niche communities are pretty great
The niche communites are cool but the overwhelming white straight laced mindset ruins it. The biggest group of bootlickers on the web I swear

I've never seen a worst hivemind culture than reddit. It's genuinely so frustrating
Like others have said it’s def useful for some info, but s*** rots your brain to browse lol. The political parts of it
imma just rewrite this bc i was thinking about this a week ago and i remember it being way better than what i just posted lol.
i agree w u, karma is woat especially for content quality. likes already motivate people to post stuff purely for the sake of getting likes on other platforms but having an ongoing score (karma) and being able to dismiss unpopular takes within the community easily (downvotes) as opposed to getting mass reported on something like twitter. this dynamic creates communities where people just post and comment what others want to hear. dissenting opinions or posts are hidden. so what you get is a bunch of recycled material and groupthink
There's some great subreddits out there. The mental health ones have helped me out so much, same with personal finance and stuff like that. P*** subreddits are nice too.
Those mainstream subreddits that everyone views are the trash you're probably indulging in. Just unfollow them and follow the ones you care about.
I think it's WAY better than Twitter, if you wanna talk about hive mind go view that app.
