Rob Zombie kinda does it with Halloween 2007 but then ditches it for formula towards the end.
That was the closest to what I imagine like the film doesn't get enough credit imo for showing Michael grow up and lose it.
I want a film like that but that never leaves them as the lead. Also maybe a speaking lead.
TV does it sometimes like with Dexter but not in the way I imagine like Rob did.
