This one was really good. The other... Not really a fan of it. KOD is actually a good album though, people really overlooked it at the time because they were all f***ed up on X**** and Lean but it's held up well.

i remember the twitter theory that the next j cole album is just him copying the latest kendrick album. prob why the fall off is delayed since he cant make a deeply personal and introspective album like Mr Morale

cole has the personality of stale bread
no idea about anyone else but i can only handle him in small doses. that's why I think he's lauded more for his features than he is for his albums.
I do think Cole is a great rapper but I've slowly been kind of listening to his music less. The only album that's really stood out to me as one of my favs from him was Born Sinner. Ironically many people seem to think that's one of his worst albums too lol

I’ll die on the hill that 4YEO is an extremely underrated album. It suffers a bit from sequencing and the “folding clothes” meme, but really people were expecting more mainstream music after Cole was coming off of arguably his commercial prime. I really respect him for dropping something personal to him. Some great raps and story telling on there

It's definitely admirable that Cole was trying to express something with the alter ego. Just saying that it was kind of half assed though.

But 4YEO really is Cole's worst album tbh. Even if we're counting Sideline story thats probably better i havent listened in a long time though
