“According to Hale, rents are growing fastest in cities seen as viable alternatives to large urban areas. The fastest-growing rents "tend to be in areas that are affordable, that are not super far away from the large urban areas, but far enough away that you can get a good deal," she said.”

    ———————————

“After dipping last spring, rents around the U.S. have not only recovered but are now blasting past their pre-pandemic levels. In 44 of the nation's 50 largest metro areas, rents have surpassed where they were before the health crisis, according to data from Realtor.com.”

Yeah no s***, it’s because of blackrock buying up all of the real estate at an insanely inflated rate far above the market norm. It’s not just messing up the rent/housing market, it’s causing tons of commodities to skyrocket because relative index pricing is largely tied to real estate. Blackrock May single handedly be accelerating destabilization in the US

Interesting, thanks for the info. I had heard about investment firms buying up whole neighborhoods and s*** but I didnt put too much time into researching.

I know cities like mine in Boston have done some housing management with Airbnb and such but has their been any addressing of this issue nationally? Im a little out of the loop admittedly

It’s a national issue that is being addressed solely by pundits and editorials, there has been no political conversation of it whatsoever as far as I know. It is a literal danger to society that companies like blackrock are allowed to exist

Although I’m sure it’s related blackrock is definitely not the sole cause of this. Not even the majority
