Oh f*** off mate
I’ve been looking for a new apartment since April.
Even in f***ing Ohio rent is outrageously high and landlords are using Covid as an excuse to squeeze every dollar out of tenants.
A lot of landlords around here make people pay an application fee just to tour their apartments. The market is so competitive now that people are forced into paying just to have an opportunity. I’ve spent north of $500 just on application fees and I still don’t have a place and I have had the rug pulled out from underneath me many times. Had landlords literally tell me the apartment is gone as I’m walking through the door to sign the lease and pay the deposit+rent.
Just recently backed out of lease last week because the landlord revealed himself to be a slumlord and let the building crumble within a week of me moving in. Lucky to get out that one, but landlords are so unregulated that it makes apartment shopping a minefield with no protection.
When is niggas going to stop acting like this is normal
supply and demand. if lots of people want to live there the prices go up.

Also lot of foreclosures are happening with these landlords not paying their share of the mortgage.
I honestly think there should be a limit or test of who can be a landlord with some kind of testing. Cause all I hear is s*** stories of how buildings are left unregulated
when every place is like $50 for an application fee and i'm a first time renter i'm not tryna blow a bag to get rejected over and over

So many places are not well maintained and their very little protection for tenants. Doesn’t help that the laws in most states are ridiculously stacked in favor of landlords.
There’s so many of them out there that are just rich kids that inherited property or money from their parents and just kick back and collect rent without actually doing any work.
