Merchant had the balls to say “maybe you should finish up your quests before moving on, would be a shame to miss out” as if they didn’t already block the path to my f***ing quest with a fallen tree
YOU WANT RESIDENT EVIL TO BE A NON-LINEAR SANDBOX GAME? LMAO
99% sure you don’t know what sandbox means. It’s not an open world you idiot
I want the level design / gameplay to be more sandbox like rather than very generic brainless shooting. It’s literally every other 3rd person action game. There is nothing here that gives you innovative gameplay. The whole point of the sandbox thing is to take their half assed stealth system and atleast give the player choice on how to tackle stuff
the gameplay
As a guy who’s played MANY games. There is nothing innovative, compelling or anything even done well in “the gameplay” to consider this a masterpiece.
Braindead AI, Corridor shooter style gameplay, terrible stealth, poor illusion of choice
Saving hardcore for a replay.
Hardcore isn’t the hardest mode, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

it’s honestly not even hard
Like atleast we RE8 they had different scenarios that changed up the mechanics.
RE2 remake was good cos it had the right amount of horror and tension. It wasn’t throwing 30 brainless AI at you consistently and Mr X added a lot of tension. This game is just mindless shooting - progress - mindless shooting again. It’s boring
They wanted to stay true to the og as much as possible bc of the backlash 3 got so maybe that’s why this game has those very same & similar issues the original had
4 was innovative at the time & I love it but the og trilogy were my favorites I’m just glad we’re still getting remakes at this point
Re4 is looking off to me graphic wise. I can’t seem to find the perfect hdr settings. It’s either too dark or too washed out. There’s also a weird blur affect when moving the camera almost like my blue/red isn’t balanced
I’ve searched videos but idk what to do at this point
My other resident evils look fine but this one is giving me problems
Played this shift for the first time high as absolute f***.
I was 50% like f*** it and 50% jumpy cuz I don't play horror games.
Very fun experience. I think I'm right at chapter 3
Only thubg i'm worried about is my knife breaking.
And another chainsaw guy popping up. Saving all my shotgun slugs for that f***
Finally playing this morning trying hardcore mode cuz I’m a RE4 vet but this s*** hard af fr died like 3-4 times on the village part
Knife nerf is brutal
Max your knife out, that’s the first thing I did. Life changing.
Hardcore isn’t as bad as people made it out to be either. Difficulty feels just right. Resources are rare so you have to be smart. Single Ganadoes are a pushover but a small group can be a threat. Loving this s*** so far.

Does it get unlimited durability? Just reached the merchant for the first time and went all in on knife durability upgrades.
Also is the rifle worth it always sold it in the OG after realizing it wasn’t that good
found out about the secret unbreakable knife smh too late I already missed it in chapter 1

Naw not unlimited. But you get a lot more use out of it. You can parry way more and get more knife qte kills/stealth kills without it breaking on you so quick. Gives peace of mind knowing you will have it to parry in tight situations. Also make sure you grab every kitchen knife you find.
I didn’t grab the rifle, so wouldn’t know. I got crossbow instead. Explosive bolts are fun to play with 🔥🔥
Word? How do you get it?

theres 16 secret Salazar statues in the game and if you shoot all of them you unlock it
Oh yeah I copped the bolt thrower instead
I wish the aiming itself felt as butter smooth as the og RE4 but I get they went for more of a horror feel. I just wish the game didn’t have to feel worse in the pursuit of more intense moments

Resident Evil 4 is widely considered one of if not the best game ever made lol
I hate yall mfs that discuss video games like marvel movies lmao, Which one do you obsess over that got you in here angrily anti-fanboying?
How is it running on each console and pc for y’all ? ( I didn’t get it yet heard some people having visual issues on ps5)
It’s fine on series x , i also don’t notice the aim issue we apparently have
Some graphic blur occasionally for no reason also
No I’m genuinely not. I’m just asking what people see in it bar nostalgia
You are also only on chapter 3 right ?
You’re making hard stances when you have no right too . An opinion is fine but you are doubling down
It is wild as s*** to have an action game set in a horror themed world. If I hadn't played Bloodborne all of this would be completely new to me.
It's f***ing great though so far. They're not giving me more than I can handle yet. Which is nice.

…………
Ur just trying to be a contrarian lol
You don’t think re4 is innovative or compelling because you’ve played 100 games that directly took inspiration from RE4 in the last 2 decades
That’s like going back and playing Super Mario 64 and claiming it did nothing innovative or compelling… nigga it was the f***ing blueprint…
I’m 2 hours in and I’m so satisfied
The haptics on ps5 are great
People overreacted to the frame rate and graphic issues
The 3D audio is terrifying with some decent headphones
The changes to the game make it feel so fresh. I played the first half of RE4 again like 2 months ago so I can see the changes in real time
