Genuinely wtf was Raccoon City? It’s just a big stain on the game for me. I’m kinda baffled here. RPD is cool for the first 5 minutes
( is it even longer than 5 minutes?) but again it’s so pointless other than nostalgia.

Raccoon City was so lazy, boring and generic, I actually can’t believe it. They didn’t bother with puzzles at all to lmao. That would’ve easily spiced the game up. Guess that’s gonna stay with the remakes.

But it’s gandering so much success

Care Center section it was on track to be my second favorite game in the whole series and then they fumbled

Still really good game overall tho. But it could’ve been 10/10 if the last third was better

It feels like it's from a different game. The dark parts are cool, but so much of it is running around a bland desolate brightly lit area. Like wtf? This is Raccoon City. S*** should've been dark and haunting. Give us a rainstorm or some s***.

    yeah rc is really baffling

crazy how every modern re has a section that everyone agrees just kind of sucks

It didn’t bring down as much for me, but they needed to at least have some atmosphere. I felt like I was playing mgs4 during rc

if the environment went from day --> night as you progressed through getting the detonator parts maybe add some rain or something too

I honestly loved RC my first run, we'll see how it holds up during replays. I get the complaints for sure but on the other hand it was a perfect mix of re2/4 for me, loved the interior segments that switched it up with those classic tense encounters from re4

ive been extremely swamped with work and other commitments on the weekends since this dropped. taking my super sweet time with it and im enjoying every second of it. i literally just got to raccoon city last night and i actually got chills seeing the "LEON KENNEDY: RACCOON CITY" screen show up.

also Grace is an amazing character. im so glad that capcom finally created a GROUNDED character that actually gets anxious in these situations and doesnt have some type of "superhuman" tendencies.

leon is just peak and the epitome of aura. this is the coolest he has ever been in the entire franchise LMAO

Trying to get into this franchise with RE2 Remake on PS5 being my first attempt. I like the graphics and the little puzzles but I think the combat/aiming feels whack, movement feels slow and there's too many zombies in these corridors for my ammo to keep up. Also there's a lot of backtracking and me running in circles trying to find my way to the correct room or finding specific items, and while doing so I'm getting eaten by some nasty freak or Falcon Punched by that huge fella with the hat and coat

you’re describing what everyone likes about these games

it’s supposed to be anxious don’t worry

I know it’s day because they made a dam detailed environment and there’s no feasible way to have it set at night and for you to still be able to see it.

That being said: Capcom patch in some rain or something s***

That’s the game! That’s exactly what the unique sauce is. You walk through the same tight and harrowing rooms over and over slowly getting your bearings and becoming more familiar with the lay out and structure. And as objectives and enemies pile up, it gets more and more intense but satisfying to unlock a door or realise where you are in connection to somewhere else. The whole environment is like really satisfying but terrifying brain teaser. Later in the game you’ll just know exactly how to get to each place and be smoothly gliding through

It took me quite a while to get into it too but once it clicked it’s really special. The ammo conservation is a thing people love too but if you aren’t gelling yet just make sure to not kill every enemy. You can shoot a leg and move around or just run and bypass. Killing them all isn’t worth it.

Edit: actually since you’ve got to the big coat fella you’re quite far in but yeah keep going

Also it’s really the only RE game in that style so if you like the bones of the design definitely play another entry. The rest contain multiple places that all click together in the same way with way more environments and enemies rather than just the one big spot.

Nothing hits like coming back for your second or third playthrough and realizing you know the locations and what to do without getting stuck. RE2R specifically is really good for that. Once you get the precinct down you can run through it in like 30 minutes, very satisfying the first few times you do it.

The fun of resident evil is managing your resources. Don't ever try to shoot every zombie you see, it's not sustainable.
