I almost posted this but barely anyone on here collects so I didn’t

This really sucks. I go to Best Buy in person for any non boutique releases and for new release Tuesday

Their selection been trash anyway

Thread title is dumb tho. Physical media for movies is perfectly healthy and will never die. We just won’t have in person selection besides a handful of stores

There’s more movies being released yearly than ever

I go to thrifts, often I’ll find blurays and very rarely 4ks. Plus I might pick up a VHS or two for the hell of it.

Best Buy probably about to go bankrupt in this decade anyways. It's really just an adult version of Toys R Us.

Thats wild, one of the only reasons I’d go to a Best Buy is for physical media.

I used to love trawling theough the DVD bins and CD aisles as a kid

Physical media is still surviving yet with boutique labels

I remember when they stopped selling cds smh used to love going as a kid just to look at all the album covers and find gems to pick up

Criterion singlehandedly saved physical media

I love buying Steelbooks from there. Now I’m really hoping they do a Oppenheimer 4K steelbook so I can cop before they stop selling physicals

My local Best Buy hasn’t been selling physical media for a while now. I only go to them at this point for steelbook exclusives but those will probably move to Amazon or something. This still sucks though

You can keep it I just think it’s hyperbole and I get annoyed when ppl say it’s dying

It’s just becoming more of a niche collectors market. The quality of everything is going up
