The force has always been a plot device lets be honest. in one movie it's just a simple telekinetic power in another it could let old men move like Olympic athletes
i think the mask is badass, the entire star wars universe is merchandised does it really matter if a mask is? is that the tipping point? not the baby yoda s*** we will be flooded with in a couple months?
if something is only done for merchandising sake then it comes off as forced.
Baby Yoda is an actual plot driven character.
Donât disrespect Baby Yoda again
Well if you expected a billion dollar franchise to create a movie so far off from the originals than I don't know what to tell you mate
Theyâre just new movies and heâs judging what he sees, not everyone goes in it with an agenda
His mask works better in TFA as itâs point was to be a deconstruction of the Vader mythos and reinforce Kyloâs drive to be as powerful as him.
When he removed it in TLJ it pretty much symbolizes his removal of those desires and instead he focuses in on creating his own legacy
Putting it back on for this movie just comes off as done purely for merchandising.....
Nah, the recreation of his mask comes after his meeting with palpatine where kylo believes he's about to be this Sith Lord again, so he wants to be badass and put on the mask, that's how I see it

I hope one day I can learn to be so badass I get to hiss like Dark Rey does đĄđĄđĄ

revert to my second post, i love baby yoda. if youâre so anti merchandising from star wars, itâs just a dumb nitpick. the entire franchise is pushed down our throats. do you think bb8 or those stupid f***ing fluffy creatures from the last movie helped advance the plot? no shot. i agree tho this entire series is one big merchandising opportunity that disney will milk until they canât no longer

i just donât buy it personally. His intention was to remove the emperor and keep his supreme leader role.
even with believing that he could be a Sith Lord, him reconstructing his helmet doesnât really symbolize that.
Not that i think it really takes away anything from the movie
Idk how i feel about kylos mask coming back. Idk if it was brought back because of Ben letting the past die and not learning from his past mistakes from TLJ or if JJ just wanted it in because it looked cool.

At that point, you can say the same about Disney giving Rey a yellow lightsaber cause one didn't exist beforehand. It's all marketing I just thought the mask was badass and the vocal effect it gave was a nice touch to his character

I mean, sure.
Iâm not saying that these nitpicks make the film some disaster or anything, it just doesnât help either lol
and bb8 drives the plot of TFA and helps the protagonists for the next two movies.
The furry creatures are merchandising background gags

Sure, i just think it took away something from the character for me personally.
And og fans hated it
The OGs also hated jar jar and now after two decades s*** is changing. Originally the second movie was called "Jar Jar Adventures" but the hate was so big they changed the whole script (reason why count douku doesn't have any bio/history and story is blend) also the voice actor almost committed suicide because of such much hate.
"Jar Jar is key to all of this" - George Lucas
I think people are failing to understand that Star Wars is for sci-fi fi nerds, of course some of it is corny, its meant to be entertaining
The Complaints like âhow is Rey so strongâ is such a dumb complaint in a series about Magic Space Powers, where all of the main characters are surviving stuff they shouldnât survive, and completing task they shouldnât be able to do if you were really trying to nitpick hard enough.
To which it can somewhat be explained that
1. Jedi Powers are pretty known in the universe
2. The Force Awakens shows that Rey was already extremely skilled with a staff, so itâs not far fetched that she could Pick up on other melee weapens pretty quickly.
3. As stupid and lazy as her being Palpatines granddaughter is, it gives an explanation to Rey haters on how sheâs a prodigy and âcan do anythingâ
4. Lastly, she was trained by Luke and Leia, but ppl canât accept that because âshe didnât train long enough with themâ, as if they know how long it takes to master the fictional super powers.
The story became terrible when luke was revealed to be Vader's son.....
??????? delete this f***ing post
kylo renâs mask is dope as f*** and i love the voice effet
My homie and I showed up to the premiere last night dressed up as a Jedi and Sith Lord. And man did we leave that theater disappointed
If this was a standalone movie that didnât have Star Wars attached to it, and just a fun action-adventure sci-fi movie would be pretty solid....But itâs not. This is the THIRD and final installment to this trilogy, like there was two previous movies leading up to this bs of a movie we just watched
Like I really canât believe they choose these two directors with completely different style/vision to make a trilogy together smh.
Rey really should have just stayed a nobody.
my theory was that she was a force child and the true chosen one from the prophecy since anakin didnât actually bring balance to the force as the chosen one was supposed to
