I feel like mfs been crying recession for years now. If the US economy can survive covid it can withstand anything and this is coming from a world renowned cynic. In the grand scheme of things this seems like a strategic ploy to sell fear and manipulate markets

The US economy survived Covid because it did things that would bite it in the ass later

The 2008 recession was caused by bad credit and speculative investments in the wrong sectors which hasn’t changed at all. We just delayed the worst effects of 2008 to the present day, but we can’t put it off any longer.

Prices will soar as the dollar plummets in value since the financial institutions that supported it through inflation can’t do such anymore. Wages won’t change since they haven’t changed since our parents were kids

Imagine working your whole life towards retirement and then all that money becomes worthless just look at it as we’re starting from the bottom

Everything just feels like a neverending recession since 2008 so it's hard to fathom how bad it could really get

Yup. If you’re not wealthy, then the economy has not been good. The wealthy got out of the 2008 recession in the 2010s tho

They’re in their mid 60s and have been planning on retiring in their 70s cause they never had enough in retirement. Hope they’ll be ok
