The build up to it will never be matched... so dark and unique. Astroworld was made for white suburban teenagers...

You may as well just say that what u think of Travis since that's the same tired line. It ain't dark it ain't this.

Astroworld was more cohesive than rodeo. Get out the past

Nas legacy is already cemented. Travis is still in progress, arguably one of biggest artist right now with a unique sound. his impact is everywhere. we dont respect travis as such yet, but future generations will. Just like how we respect Nas

Illmatic isn't even top ten rap project of the 90s if we're keeping it a buck

Uhhhhh like you can name ten albums that are better for sure probably. But it's always debatable and that alone tells you alot about how good and significant illmatic is.

I always tell people that the youth have there own heroes. Why would kids be looking up to Nas they have Travis. Nas is old and boring, Travis is "fresh and exciting" (I'd argue that he isn't even that anymore) and what he's currently doing is nothing short of impressive. Sure adults who were kids or teens when Travis was popping might regard him as there favorite rapper. But if your talking about like the upper echelon of rappers I don't think Travis will ever be in those discussions. Drake for sure but Travis idk I could be wrong.

the artform is constantly going through evolutions and changes. Its not rigid. Just like rock, theres punk rock, and there are legends in punk rock. Or even art, theres art periods and stylistic periods, that are radically different than other ones. (think salvador dali and surrealism and jackson pollock and abstract art, both are considered legends but come from different stylistic periods) But all respected in their own right. Nas period in rap was v different than travis's both became big in their own cultural landscape.

I get what you're saying, but Nas just so happens to be the second most important rapper ever. The first one is Rakim imo. Nas is a direct descendant of him imo but he took it way further than Rakim. I don't think Travis shifted the landscape the way those guys did maybe future or thugger. Honestly I'm very interested in seeing how Travis will be perceived in the future.

This is why I don't buy what op is saying. Even if rodeo is better than all his other albums and I actually agree with that. It's not like the quality of his other albums are vastly different he generally makes the same kind of music with the same intent.
